300 : 10th Anniversary since release of the movie

It seems like it was not so long ago, hard to imagine. The movie that made Gerard Butler famous.

"What we got here is failure to communicate."

The movie was genuinely a big deal when it came out. I distinctly remember. And it seemed like Butler was gonna be a huge A lister.

Those days are behind us. Both the movie and Butler have now fallen out of favor.

The movie came out in 2007.

Just watched the movie this evening ironicallyON HD DVD!!!

Pulled out the Xbox 360 and the HD DVD player attachment and watched it for ole times sakes.

I have to say 10 years later this movie still holds up really well.

It had me from beginning to end just like it did back in 2007.

A lot of times over time my rating for some movies goes down because lots of movies don't age well. I still give the movie a 8.5/10.

Happy Anniversary!As a proud Greek who lives only fourteen miles away from where the real Hot Gates clash took place I can only say this:Hey,Hollywood,bring more Ancient Greece/mythology-oriented movies and hit tv shows.HBO are you reading this??

Did you enjoy the movie and the portrayals of the Spartans?

I have read that some Greek were not happy. What do you think?

Yeah,I really enjoyed the movie!It was a huge hit in Greece,even in modern Sparta,the film's premiere was crowded with people dressed as Ancient Spartans with spears and shields!We love Frank Miller fantasy,the graphic novel is great.There are always reactions about Greek History and how Hollywood treats it but so far and as far as I'm concerned this is the best flick ever made about Ancient Greek History/Mythology and the majority of Greek viewers agree with me.We need more movies and tv shows about Ancient Greek History and Greek Mythology,c'mon Hollywood!We need to reboot The Iliad and The Odyssey for starters!
