I remember when they came out with the Pizza Lunchables. Having one of those during lunch made you the coolest kid in school lol.
green ketchup, purple ketchup it was made my Heinz. It was cool to see but I wouldn't want to try that especially the green ketchup it looked like slime from Double Dare.
@Felix when you said kids not playing outside anymore, what do that have to do with snacks? I'm sorry that just threw me off a bit when you said that.
Anyways, I used to eat patoato stix but when i was overweight the first time when i was in pre-teen years I lost a lot of taste for some snacks. I tried a patoto stix a few months ago and wasn't feeling it. Gushers I never liked i didn't like the center I loved fruit by the foot and the fruit roll ups. I remember squeeze its my mom would buy those for me and my younger brother and sister, at the time my dad was in the military and at the commissary you could get things a little cheaper. Shark bites I loved those too. They still make those snack food cakes i don't think those would ever go away. Well i haven't seen Ding Dongs in a while i used to love those they were like eating a Ho-Ho but round.
I'm not sure about the over-parenting stuff, but I do agree that technology has led to an increase in obesity. A lot of toys (nerf guns, for example) actually encouraged physical activity. Now I'm seeing kids with tablets. The video games are much more immersive than they were in the 90's. Most of the earlier video games were too short, limited and repetitive to play all day and become addictive. The internet was slow and had little to offer compared to today. Growing up in the 90's, there was nothing to keep you inside for too long. I spent 90% of my childhood outdoors, but I'd probably never want to leave the house if I were a kid today.
Ok thanks for summing that up. You are right that is something I don't see much of at all anymore kids playing outside or at the playground. I try to take my little neice and nephew outside to play on the trampoline, on their bikes, or whatever. I know my nephew he is 5 years old and already into video games I want to try to make him active. Today I think I've seen more over weight kids I really think its because of laziness back in the day if a kid was overweight it probably just ran in the family or he was just a chunky kid.
Munch Em's (as somebody mentioned above) were AMAZING. The ranch ones were the best ever. I wish they still existed.
When you said French Toast Crunch I was thinking of Cinnamon toast crunch. I remember that cereal I didn't like it.
Does anyone remember this candy called Dye Hard? It was a lollipop that have your whole mouth the color of the lollipop just like if you drank some dye. It think it was around for a year or so.
