I Think I Love My Wife : I Think I Hate This Movie

This is seriously, easily one of the worst pieces of garbage ever made, and I love Chris Rock.

I know I hate it. The DVD is still spinning and I just walked out. Very uneven and lame.

I've got to agree, as the movie ended I started screaming, I want the last hour and a half back of my life! Worse movie ever. Made me hate men and hate the thought of married life.

it's so boring and i think i hate it too.

I love Chris Rock too, but this film was a real disaapointment.

it's probably Chris Rock's worst film to date.

All you tools bashing this movies but don't even say why.. tisk tisk

this movie makes no sense.

it starts as a critique to marriage, only to end up preaching Sharia - "don't have extramarital sex".

it starts with "my wife won't focker me", to end up with "my wife asks me why we don't focker anymore" in a Prince (that little guy who sings) voice; well if you dont explain why your wife doesnt wanna focker you over 90 minutes of screen time, why in Pfizer's name does the question pop during the last 4 minutes ?

i thought all was good fun and i was kept interested by Nikki & Richard story up until he saw himself in the mirror in her bed with his tie over his head, and "realized" that family is more important. completely arbitrary and robotic twist, unconvincing and unsupported by anything in the movie.

so if i wanted to give the movie a 7-8 for the first 75-90 minutes, after the scene with Nikki and him denying her sex, i was like WTF ? and gave it 2, for the strong smelly religious fundamentalism flavor of its ending.

oh and did i mention Brenda singing with a Prince voice was gay ? maybe he didnt wanna focker Richard for fear he would discover he's a tranny! you know, like the Wachowski's brother umm, or sister.

I think the reason why you guys hate this movie is because you can't relate to it. I honestly loved it, but it's whatever I respect others' taste.

To the people who "hate" this movie: Wait until you're married for a significant amount of time. So much of this film, sadly, hit too close to home. And I've seen the same thing in many of my friends' marriages.

A woman marries a man hoping he'll change, and he doesn't. A man marries a woman hoping she won't change, and she does. The long and the short of it, folks.


This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

Chris Rock sucks on his own.. unless he's with a cast of white comedic actors, producers, writers/etc.. he SUCKS in films!

The movie only sucks if you can't relate to it. Granted It's not the best but meh it ain't the worse either.

Old enough to know better, young enough to do it anyway. ;P

So, how do you relate to almost cheating on your wife to the point of taking off her underwear and just stopping short of actually having sex with a woman, and then running home to her thinking that because you stopped everything will be ok?

Do you relate to good actors reciting dialogue that seems more like they're reading off cue cards than interacting with each other?

Maybe I wasn't into the fact that half the movie was voiced over narrations followed by 4 minutes of horrible ear ruining autotuned singing. Or maybe it was the lack of a decent plot. I don't know what people are relating to, but I obviously didn't relate to this movie.

Unfortunately, I do relate to this movie on certain points,(long term marriage getting stale, longing after other women, having second thoughts) but from what I have seen and guys I have spoken to, this is very common.

I do think it would have been better if they had another leading man in the role. Chris Rock is extrememly funny comedian but he is not actor. And the singing scene was a fail attempt at comedy in a point of the movie none was needed.

Overall a good movie for it's type but anyone seeing one of Chris Rock's stand-up routines, then going into this movie expecting the same would be sadly disappointed.

I will say that after watching this I feel so badly for most married guys and SOOOOO happy to be single. This may have turned me off marriage and children permanently.

Don't get me wrong; I know some people who are very happily married. But as Chris Rock himself says, "Men are only as faithful as their options." I regret only the few women I HAVE NOT slept with (the ones I am pretty sure I could have) rather than most of the ones I HAVE slept with and WILL sleep with.

If more women understood the brilliant quote, relationships would be a lot easier.
