Freedom Writers : Dangerous Minds and Lean On Me

Original in their own right and a hundred times better. I didn't care about this movie or the stale characters

I pretty much agree.

Dangerous Minds was the first movie that came to mind when I watched this movie.

It's not that Freedom Writers was a bad movie, it just didn't bring much new to the table. It's kind of cool that this story is based on real events, but that fact really wasn't interesting enough to make me care. The fact remains that this movie has been made a bunch of times before.

Right, it just seemed a bit pointless to me after all the good ones that were made. The teachers definitely deserve credit and recognition but the movies don't seem to give much justice to what they truly did. I didn't really care about the characters in this one whereas the other movies actually tore at my heart a bit.

True, but FW provide more character background and development of the students. I think it was better than DM, but Lean On Me and Coach Carter are masterpieces in my opinion.

I should have also mentioned Stand and Deliver, another great.

True, I understand the development argument but I just felt as though this was another teacher-saves-the-day movie and the concept is tired and old

Dangerous Minds was so horrible, I didn't even care when the main character kid died. God, I don't even remember his name.
