I can't say I'm disturbed by it. That's probably because I've been online 23 years this year and I've seen it all. For better or worse, the internet has allowed a platform for all people, and that includes even the dumbest and the worst among us.

That's a real shame because it's supposed to be a place for discussion of movies which is something of a positive thing. It's not supposed to know racial or ethnic or religious barriers.

Or maybe it's an objectively good documentary to everyone who isn't experiencing white fragility. Black doc doesn't automatically mean praise from critics.

Riiiiight. Did you see what happened with the Ghostbusters reboot? Awful movie, got great reviews from critics because "strong female leads blargh blargh blargh". Richard Roeper gave it an honest review and was attacked mercilessly by SJW's. I can only imagine what would happen if somebody gave this movie a bad review. They'd suddenly be an "alt-right, white supremacist, neo nazi, bigoted trump supporter" or whatever vitriol you idiots like to spew right now.

Agreed. It's almost impossible to go to the message board of any movie dealing with American history and not see racism and bigotry littered throughout. Disliking the content of the history of this country doesn't change the fact that it occurred, and these stories should be told. I'm disappointed that I had not heard of James Baldwin until this movie.

Good point, a lot of Europeans like to give their opinion on American racism, which is funny given Europe's colonial history. But hey, everyone's sh!t stinks but some smell worse than others.

Facts cannot be racist. Only racists would deny something to be racist even if it's cleary racist. Thats because racists confuse their bigotry with facts. They believe they are stating facts when they really just being racist.
