Below Deck Mediterranean : New season of "Below Deck"

The new season of Below Deck will have both Kate and Ben onboard! Yay! Ben sure is a busy fellow. I'm mostly excited to see Captain Lee - I don't think Captain Mark is in the same league as Lee.

Ya, and they are back in the Caribbean too.

Was that the brother of the stew from Texas on the new season too? That guy was not right in the head on the one season.

Captain Lee might be a better captain but I liked Captain Mark better. For some reason I can't stand Captain Lee.

I don't like Capt Lee either. He looks cranky all the time. I liked Capt Mark's hands-off approach and letting the crew resolve their own issues, but he lost some sheen when he promoted the misogynist Bryan.

Yikes, I'm the only one that likes Capt Lee? I like his take charge attitude. Capt Mark is a little too hands off for me.

Agreed. Even on a cruise yacht I would rather have a Captain that maintains the crew/officer relationship. You can't be an officer and be a buddy - it doesn't work. And in the case of a seagoing vessel, fire is the biggest threat. You drill and prepare for it all the time. That requires a Captain who gives orders and a crew who know they need to obey. And you can't turn that off and on.

Captain Mark is a little too distant for me. While keeping your Captain authority, you still need to know your people. You can't just rely on hearing from the crew.

I agree, This season's Captain let everybody snitch on each other and just took their word for it. And he had no business promoting that guy. I think Captain Lee ran a tighter ship. Those 2 guys guys made it personal with Danny. The women did not mind him. I think the Captain should of taking some interest in him instead of letting those 2 Bitches, Bryan and his pet boy take care of him. It is not like this was ship with a huge workforce.

We are talking about the Captains but I think the show lead is Ben. He runs the ship more then anybody. And I think it was very nice of him taking care of Danny. The Captain did nothing, If it wasn't for Ben being a nice guy Danny would of been a lot sicker. The 2 B*tches thought he was faking it and playing games! And this is who that captain promoted Bryan who at the very least should of been reprimanded considering how much the Captain stated how important it is to make sure no one gets real sick. So instead of Bryan assessing the matter the chef does it? ANd I think Ben did it knowing that no one else was. Pathetic. He was on last year and he is going to be on the upcoming season. He clearly is the star of the show.

But remember, there are more crew than we see. There is at least one engineer on board (prolly a second) and I think somebody else needs to be qualified to take over in case the Captain needs relief or becomes incapacitated. Between the size of the crew and the fuel/maintenance costs - that's a good part of the reason these cruises are so expensive. I don't know if there is a specific person in the crew delegated to be the medic. They are all required to take first aid training, but I have seen in movies and read where the ship's cook/chef provides medical attention. Who knows?

It is odd to me that we only rarely see the other crew and really adds to the whole notion for me that his whole thing is staged. There is no interaction with the other crew which I find either unbelievable or the other crew are incredibly wise not to get caught up in the drama.

I liked Captain Mark. He only got involved if needed. I feel like Captain Lee likes the drama and being a hard ass.

Kate was arrested for assaulting her girlfriend well after the upcoming season of Below Deck was filmed.

I liked Hannah and Captain Mark a lot more than Kate and Lee.

Kate is obnoxious and COLD. Hannah is the opposite - fun and warm.

Lee reminds me of policy-first pencil pushers that told on people for smoking in high school. Mark was more able to level with people, eye-to-eye.

so, Lee is an actual boss and keeps order while Mark allows people to bully and threaten other crew mates in front of him? yeah no.

I hope Rocky comes back. She is the sluttiest woman on tv!
