Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds : Coke and Cigarettes

I enjoyed this documentary too and this window into their lives. Debbie Reynolds was before my time so I barely knew who she was until I heard she was the mom of Carrie Fisher. I remember seeing her on Wil and Grace and telling houseguests that if they do a number two in the bathroom to light a match in case they do "poopydoops" lol. I thought this was adorable and realized as I saw more of Debbie that this was kind of who she was. Sweet, silly, funny and extremely charming.

One thing that struck me watching this is how Carrie chugged Cokes and smoked in nearly every scene. I wonder how much she smoked a day and how much this may have contributed to her untimely death. Obviously she made no secret of the fact that she abused drugs and alcohol for a long time. Who knows how much of a factor this was. Most people do this to some degree at different points in their lives.

Sorry to see both of them pass. Something beautiful and poetic though that they went within a day of the other. RIP.

Yeah how true, both ladies are now sorely missed.
