Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds : Celebrity endorsements
Re: Celebrity endorsements
What does that even mean? Let's forget for a moment that this documentary has zero political slant, your argument makes no sense.
Its very annoying when people state that people who's profession is in Hollywood should be precluded from having a political opinion and should never share it if they do. Its a ridiculous way to look things. Thats about as smart as saying everyone who works in the banking industry or the health industry or the antiqued and outdated coal industry shouldn't ever have or express a political opinion. Beyond stupid.

Re: Celebrity endorsements
It is correct that this documentary had no political slant, but while watching it, it occurred to me how different celebrities lives are from mine and probably most other people. Catherine Hickland has a service rooster!
I have no problem with celebrities voicing their opinion, but they shouldnt presume that their opinion carries any more weight than any other person. I dont take political advice from bankers, doctors or coal miners either. I take banking advice from bankers, medical advice from doctors and if I were a coal miner, Id listen to advice from them as well.
I am aware of three separate videos released in the last few months with celebrities making an appeal to the public about whom to vote for and against. Given how successful these videos have been, I think they should just go on doing them.It is good to know where they stand.

Re: Celebrity endorsements
The both seemed quite down to earth. Their homes were not overly fancy.
Re: Celebrity endorsements
Down to earth maybe for celebrities. But that is still far different than the rest of the country. And as I said, Catherine Hickland has a service rooster! WTH! My point is that celebrities often trade on their celebrity and have the mistaken idea that their opinions are worth more than someone elses. By all means, let them pontificate, but consider the source.
Re: Celebrity endorsements
Go back to licking Trump's RUMP-hole. That's the only reason you're posting your BS.
Re: Celebrity endorsements
There's the intelligent reasoned response I except from the left. Thanks for confirming my expectations.
Re: Celebrity endorsements
Because the unelected president-elect is such a regular fella.
Re: Celebrity endorsements
Oh he's not a regular fella. Never said he was. In fact I never mentioned him at all.
Re: Celebrity endorsements
OP is a butthurt Trump supporters. The same person who is desperate for approval, celebrities included.
Would rather liste to what Carrie has to say than a Trump fanboy.

Re: Celebrity endorsements
Nor is electing one. Yet here we are.
Re: Celebrity endorsements
Well, sorry to break it to you, but acting is not for dumb people. There are many actors that went to Ivy League schoolsasit is very difficult to memorize all those lines, and then say them back, without seeming strange about it, while having to do 1. activity, then a 2nd thing, then a 3rd thing, while still remembering possibly a bunch of complicated technical jargon you might have to saywhile also feeling something as your character. Sopeople who are naturally quite smart do well at acting and as suchthey are smarter than the average population, andhave a more valid opinion than them in my opinion. James Franco plays morons in movies and the guy has like a genius IQ of 140. Dolph Lundren went to like MIT or something. Rowan Atkinson who also plays one of the biggest morons in cinema historywent to Oxford or one of the top colleges in the UK. Yale has one of the top acting programs in the country and NYU as well. These are some of the smartest people IN THE COUNTRY and the WORLD actually, and as people of equal intelligence who devote themselves to say science and technical things and do not have time or inclination to speak about world matterswellactors do.
Trump is a smart man too, another reason why he has been successful, and "famous". If a celebrity is dumb and got there on "looks" alone, theywill not last long and their career will go downhill fast. (Many examples so in those cases I would agree with youbut in those cases those people were dumb and not that good at acting to begin with.) Acting is EXTREMELY hard to do well and some of the smartest people in the world excel at it as a result. Therefore..yestheir opinions are VERY MUCH worth listening to, but it doesn't mean you have to agree with all of them.

Re: Celebrity endorsements
Actually I agree with a lot of this post. Especially, "it doesn't mean you have to agree with all of them."
Re: Celebrity endorsements
Maybe I missed something.
Did CF (RIP) publicly state she would no longer live in the US if Trump became president?
If she did, then at least she kept her word unlike Whoppi and that twerking druggy chick.
You gotta love some of these idiots who make millions in the US and then want to leave when someone who doesn't jump up and down supporting gay marriages, third trimester abortions and ILLEGAL immigrants gets elected. As if one person, even the president, is really going to change anything in THEIR privileged, rich and entitled lives . I hope they feel free to go live somewhere else.

Re: Celebrity endorsements
Can we all agree to stop bringing up politics into something that didn't even mention politics? Cool, thanks.
Re: Celebrity endorsements
