Seriously, though, I like that he's sort of the family peacekeeper. Maya has devoted her life to the ins and outs of JJ and his CP so she can fight for and meet all his needs, Ray is a ball of anxiety, and Dylan is a ball of rage; they need someone who can keep them calm and happy so they can all get along better, and Jimmy knows just how to do that.

He's my favorite character on the show.

In tonight's episode ("Valentine's Day"), I thought it was kinda cool that we saw not just his gentle / sweet / thoughtful side, but also a side of him that's willing to (literally) stand up and fight for someone he loves.
