Timeless : Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

Since the main characters on this show cross paths with different historical figures, I was wondering if there were any that you would want to meet or that you would be "star struck" if you were to encounter them?

Re: Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

Einstein for sure.

Frederick Douglass.

Meeting George Washington would be incredible as would be Abraham Lincoln.

Meeting some of the leaders of the Suffragettes

Also Eugene V Debs (ran for president 4 times for the US Socialist Party )

Re: Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

What's keeping you from meeting Frederick Douglas? I understand he is doing some great work and is being recognized more and more, I noticed.

Re: Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

George Washington
Abraham Lincoln
Theodore Roosevelt
Babe Ruth
Thomas Edison

Re: Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

Jesus, to witness his miracles.
Lee Harvey to ask if he shot Kennedy.
Jim Morrison just to hang out.

Re: Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

Yes, Oswalt shot Kennedy. I just saved you a time travel trip.

Re: Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

Ok, we all know the story. Go *beep* yourself.

Re: Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

Sorry meant to say go *beep* yourself.

Re: Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

BTW, who is Oswalt? The pitcher for the Astros shot Kennedy? Wow, what a breakthrough.

Re: Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

Something that routinely annoys me with these time travel stories is the interaction with famous and historical figures. The fact is that even if you could time travel to 1864, for example, you aren't going to meet Lincoln any more than you could meet a president in your lifetime. Yet, so many of these time travel stories have to shoe horn every well known person they can think of who might have been alive and in the area. It's so contrived.

Re: Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

I get what you're saying, but of course it's contrived, it's a one-hour tv drama. The very premise is to contrive a scenario that would be enjoyable to watch play out. I think you're argument would be more applicable to a two hour (or more) movie presenting itself as a serious look at time travel.

But your point is very true in an acedemic sense.

Liberals claim to love "others ideas", until they find out people actually have other ideas.

Re: Crossing Paths With Historical Figures

Presidents were more accessible in the 1860s than they are now.

Heck, even in the 1940s/1950s, Truman would simply walk across the street from the White House to some store.

I've always been a fan of Napoleon. When Flynn's new pilot said she had met Napoleon, I was so jealous. :)
