Sherlock : Who Was Aubrey?

Who Was Aubrey?

Most detective stories (book, TV) allow the audience to put the clues together and even potentially solve the case themselves.

In this pile of arse gravy, some old woman we've never seen before ever did it. Yup, she just turns up at the end from nowhere. Um, she did it everyone. She's the culprit (this woman you've literally never seen until she was revealed as the killer).

Um, okay.

Thanks.

What?

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

Aww you still crying?

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

No.

But I am spreading your salty butthurt tears on my toast.

Did Painbow criticise your poor Sherlock? Awww diddums. Does the boo boo hurt?

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

I think you mean Norbury.

And we did see her before, in the very beginning. She was the secretary in the conference room who requested a lolly.

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

So if we catch a glimpse of the killer at the start, that makes the reveal of this character we know bugger all about clever?

Sorry, but you could just as easily have revealed that Dave, the local bin man was responsible.

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

what like Agatha christie or columbo.

This ep was more of a set up to the next two ( ok i am hoping!!)

The ep was possibly the worst as a single entity though.

This whole episode was entirely about setting up the next two.

That only makes it worse though.

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

I've literally only posted on this forum since yesterday, you ungodly spazz wango.

It's a TV show, mate. Try not to let your feelz get too hurt when it's criticised.

Here, have a tissue.

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

So you weren't paying attention and now you're pissed off?

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

Paying attention to what? Her five second cameo at the start?

What a classic mystery. They'll be talking about this one for decades, huh?

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

But the culprit had to be either one of the people in the conference room, or one of the people on Mary's team. (Mary or AJ).

That's the reason Lady Smallwood was arrested. But she turned out to be the red herring and the culprit was the person nobody paid attention to- the secretary.

I do think it was quite clever.

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

You say clever; I say unimaginative and convenient.

Sherlock can apparently dismiss cases without getting out of his chair by simply saying "Odd socks? Arrest the brother-in-law If the dog cant swim the neighbour did it" and yet when it comes to an old lady (he's met) listening in on secret government operations he literally needs an entire episode to grasp that it was her.

If you're gonna take a year to write this crap, you need to do a lot better.

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

The culprit often turns out to be a seemingly extraneous character in this show.
For example, the cab driver in one early episode.

(Even Moriarty, in the beginning, was just the IT man mostly in the background).

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

Hahaha lol you are hilariously pathetic. If you hate a show and spend all your time on its message board it's pretty sad don't you think

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

I see where you're coming from, but this isn't like a straight procedural detective drama. This show doesn't have the Agatha Christie thing where we meet every character then at the end we have a big reveal.

This show is more like Hannibal; the characters and their stories have over-shadowed the mysteries.

I feel like the mysteries are the secondary plots in some ways, rather than the main plot.

I think that's why some people don't like the show very much anymore.

Personally, I love it. There's a million and one Agatha Christie style shows, but I like things like Hannibal and Sherlock where you become immersed in the characters and the world they inhabit.

Re: Who Was Aubrey?

fcking ell painbow - chill out a bit mate ;)

I know its january and all!
