Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life : Winter- Lorelai's Speech about her Father (after the funeral)
Re: Winter- Lorelai's Speech about her Father (after the funeral)
Yeah and I found it really uncomfortable how she said that Richard caught her at age 15 and thought she was losing her virginity, but Lorelai says he was wrong and she'd already lost her virginity a long long time before that. "Like Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria long time ago." like what? How old was she, then? 13, or even younger? I don't even want to think about it. How could she carelessly admit that to her mother and a bunch of old men?
Re: Winter- Lorelai's Speech about her Father (after the funeral)
The whole thing was odd. It was always implied that Chris was the first and that it was an impulse happening. Surely if she had been having sex with multiple partners she would have thought about birth control.
Re: Winter- Lorelai's Speech about her Father (after the funeral)
I agree, I was really shocked/surprised at the speech partially because it seemed to ignore continuity.
Re: Winter- Lorelai's Speech about her Father (after the funeral)
You do have to remember, she was very drunk.
Re: Winter- Lorelai's Speech about her Father (after the funeral)
That would be easier if she didn't already have a history of making inappropriate comments. Especially about her parents and often in front of an audience.
Re: Winter- Lorelai's Speech about her Father (after the funeral)
Yeah it seemed too far? Like at this point in her life you would think she would have grown up a bit. It seemed way too offensive even for Lorelai.
Re: Winter- Lorelai's Speech about her Father (after the funeral)
She acted so immature but one of my favorite scenes was that one between her and Emily in the kitchen. Emily told her something, and honestly, Lorelai deserved it. Even had she not told that story she had plenty of times in the past where she acted like a spoiled, petulant child, especially when around her parents.

I was annoyed about it too until the phone call/story to Emily in Fall. Niagra Falls on my face with that one
