Riverdale : Is Betty a little insane?

Personally, I think she's cracking under the pressure, but I don't think she's actually crazy or mentally ill. Perhaps just vulnerable to it.

I think that why her mother gives her meds and steer her away from red lipstick and people like Veronica, Archie, and Cheryl. She doesn't want "Polly" getting out again.

That theory sounds less ridiculous now than it did when I first read it here a week or two ago. She was calling Chuck Jason, remember.

I don't really think Betty is crazy (but who knows?). Probably they just want us to think she is the possible murderer, but I think it's just a red herring - she's too major a character.

But if she has a split personality, she might be considered not guilty of the murder. Messed up stuff.

Polly IS real- her character is played by Tiera Skovbye.

I am still not convinced.

Here is what I don't getMiss Bitchypants Cheryl did an about face when she saw the word "Polly" in the Bang Book, and is now taking Betty's side against Jason. The same Jason whose death has only hit home for her an episode ago. She said she really didn't know her brother and wants to make amends.

Why? She knew Jason and Polly were an item, did she not? She made little secret of the fact she considered Polly a crazy girl. She must have suspected that Jason did her wrong, and swam fully dressed through a river to help him escape fromsomething.

My take is that she was heartbroken that her beloved twin Jason jokingly bragged to the whole team about banging Betty while she was possessed by her dark-side alter ego (Crazy girl - 20 points?) and realized he'd gone too far.

Someone mentioned in a Screen Junkies News show on YouTube about the possibility of Polly being Betty's twin sister and this is currently Polly pretending to be Betty while Betty is locked up somewhere.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't somebody say early on that Polly was older? I guess she could technically be older by being born slightly before Betty was as twins.

I liked this theory until I thought back on this episode and Betty seemed legit shocked that Polly's name was in the bang book. So I'm thinking that's a stretch with this theory.

So in the end I do think Polly is real but there seems to be more to Betty than just a controlling mother. Maybe the mother is controlling for more reasons than just being a bitch. I really want to know more about Polly and what she did exactly to get herself locked up in a psych ward. Betty said that Charlie hurt her but it was her mom that broke her. Betty's character got a whole hell of a lot more interesting after this past episode though.

Yes she did. At first I wasn't sure about the actress playing Betty but I'm liking her now. She's bringing life to her character. And I like that she has some serious skeletons in her closet.

Polly's character has already been casted and will not be played by lili reinhart. I think betty was just seriously mad on what they did to her sister and plus she has temper problem.

Maybe but I think what we saw was just a break. She simply snapped because of what happened to Polly.

She needs to be assessed and removed from school, placed under house arrest and sort herself out. She is a threat to her fellow classmates.
