Riverdale : Future seasons of "Riverdale"
Re: Future seasons of "Riverdale"
Although the literary references on the show have been dropping like flies (not complaining), Kevin Keller did name-drop Madam Satan, and maybe I had read somewhere prior to the premiere of Sabrina having been cast? Been trying to steer clear of that for fear of spoilers but we have the feeling the show might take a few paranormal turns.
If it lives long enough (unlikely?) for the current story arc to come to a complete close it'd totally be the best way to end the show. Like wow.

Re: Future seasons of "Riverdale"
I'm hoping they give it a chance. I mean Jane the Virgin is awful and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend got really stupid in it's second season.
Archie deserves at the very least a two season run to find it's legs.
Would be amazing to see a bad girl version of Sabrina running around causing trouble with spells.

Re: Future seasons of "Riverdale"
Back before the show was offically greenlit (when it was going to be on FOX), there was talk of them doing Halloween specials that would mirror "Afterlife with Archie" in some way, and they hinted that they would take place outside of the regular continuity so would possibly allow them to have zombies etc. without compromising the regular show.

Talk of this went quiet once they started the pilot, but it's been mentioned again here and there in the past month or so. During a set visit while the show was shooting, some of the cast spoke about it so it might still happen in some way:

They confirmed there won't be a Halloween or Christmas episode in season one, and should the show be picked up for season two, those holidays will be covered but in what way, we don't know. I reckon they could get away with it, ala "The Simpsons" 'Treehouse of Horror' episodes, if they were pulled off well enough.
There's also been a lot of chatter and interest about Sabrina including her own spin-off that would be in league with the "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" comic series, and they have some ideas that could allow her to exist in her own bubble:

We were told a while back that Sabrina was going to appear in the season one finale and she would be a 'cult escapee' (which I assumed was the show's way of referencing her witchy-ness without overtly giving her magical powers) but that doesn't seem to be happening now; there's been no mention of it for a while, now. They're shooting the season one finale at the moment and if Sabrina had been cast we probably would've heard by now.

The one thing thats tricky is, there will always be a genre, mystery element to this show, but its hard to introduce a supernatural element. I think theres a way to introduce Sabrina in a way thats not supernatural, but she is, shes a witch As dark as Riverdale is, the vision for Sabrina is even darker. Riverdale is on one side of the Sweetwater River and Greendale, where Sabrina lives, is on the other. Theres sort of that mythic idea that on one side of the river theres one reality and on the other side of the river theres another reality. So who knows? But yeah, theres definitely a universe where Sabrina pops up in Riverdale, or theres a version of Sabrina that exists in her own witchy bubble.

Re: Future seasons of "Riverdale"
I'll love that to happen, especially since they are going to potentially bring Sabrina in the season finale or so. In my opinion, how the Afterlife with Archie should go, is in a crossover with iZombie! Another CW, comic book based show!
Re: Future seasons of "Riverdale"
Thanks everyone for the replies. All good points. I agree, this is a good show and should continue. The crossover concept is interesting, although I don't know much about the iZombie program. I will check that out.
Sakura, that was some great information you linked, I appreciate it.
