Split : Incorrect Predictions you made during the movie??? SPOILERS

I tried to not get spoiled before seeing the movie (although one of the trailers made it seem evident that he indeed would transform). I still knew there was some sort of at least semi-twist in the movie. Here's the two I thought of while watching it:

The dad at the beginning that was "attacked" outside the car was actually one of the personalities. He wouldn't be revealed until near the end.


The girl had the disorder and would be something even stronger then the beast.

Having not seen any spoilers, I was imagining David Dunn rescuing her from The Beast. But once she was found by the security guard, I stopped thinking that this had anything to do with Unbreakable. The ending was a pleasant surprise.

I once thought that his mother was a Satanist and his 24th alter was a demon or Satan.

I had the fact that Bruce Willis had a cameo in it spoiled for me, but not who he played. I didn't jump to David Dunn, funnily enough, but to another Shymalan role. When Dr. Fletcher mentioned that if she died, she had a specialist that would take Kevin for her, I immediately thought of Dr. Malcolm Crowe, ha ha. I don't know how that would have worked.

Right as the film was ending and Casey was being rescued by the zoo keeper I thought it was all in her head and that she had run away from home and broke into the zoo ?

I was predicting that the uncle had DID and was actually Kevin and the girl recognized him right away in the car which is why she looked so terrified. She didn't want to say anything to the other girls out of fear/shame. I thought the twist would be showing the uncle's actual face at the end when she says his name out loud to him.

I thought that some how the girls were going to escape and Casey was going to kill the Beast and save everyone!

I read that there's a twist in this movie and knowing Shymalan's other movies I thought that the twist would be something like that the psycho would be the main girls imagination and she would be the bad guy because she was so f'ed up because of something that happened to her in the past, or that all of this happened in her head. I'm glad that wasn't the case.

I thought Casey was going to be one of the personalities. Like when the videos on the computer were showing, i didnt know there would be videos but an example of what i thought is James Mcavoy would have a video with a new folder saying "Casey" and shed watch it and it would be James Mcavoy wearing her clothing, talking like her, and shed be super confused and now "in the light" as James.

lol i scanned the names looking for "casey" too

my incorrect prediction pissed me off cause i thought (wanted) casey to kill her uncle the funeral scene and the ending with the cop just about broke my heart

but then, thinking on it after, i guess the beast gave casey the power to.. fight back? i dunno, i'm mad the uncle wasn't killed onscreen is all.

I kept expecting him to suddenly kill his doctor during their many (boring) conversations

I was hoping a Transformer wrapped in the american flag would bust into the office and start shooting missiles everywhere.


Then I realized I was an adult and continued to enjoy the well-written dialog and good acting in those scenes.

But please tell me that you didn't resort to that hoary old chestnut of "I'm an adult" when someone dare have the temerity to dislike something that you don't?

Seriously amigo (or amigess) the dialogue was rather pitiful in those aforementioned scenes. I kept expecting something to happen BECAUSE the dialogue was so stilted.it would have made sense for a sudden act of violence to come out of nowhere
But instead all we got was "I'm ok now, I'll see you next week" and "No stay longer, and tell me about the incident at work.and why did you email me" (back and forth, back and forth)


Please give an example of the well-written dialogueyou must be able to remember such lines, if they were so well written?

And as for the performances..wow.I couldn't believe that McAvoy just settled to affect an accent, close his eyes and then do another (four or five times) in his tortured final act (oh dear!)

Is this the good acting, you're referring to?

Hey, if all else fails.you could do a search through my post history.that might deflect from your lack of any sort of comeback regarding this disappointing movie?

i thought it was going to be the frail doctor that would transform into the beast, and all the girls were other personalities getting eaten by the beast

My friend thought the lady therapist was "The Beast."

In the car at the beginning, Casey and Barry seem to have a moment before he acts. Then, in captivity, she tells the one girl to "behave" when Barry chose her first.

At that point I wondered if Casey was Barry's accomplice.

That would have been a good twist. Also, it was Dennis not Barry acting like this.

There were moments where I thought casey would get Stockholm syndrome despite seeing the beast eat someone

Prediction #1: That it would be too long, pretentious, overwrought and self-indulgent.

No, I nailed that one.

thats exactly what I thought,..but then the twist,which could make it possible. Did the director just create his own Superhero universe ??

Some idiot on FG revealed that the twist had something to do with Unbreakable, so I was half expecting Willis to turn up and fight the beast in the end.

Mostly, I just went with the flow and didn't make predictions. I certainly didn't predict that McEvoy would turn into some kind of cannibalistic Hulk. That was a bit silly. I was hoping the supernatural element would be left slightly more ambiguous.

I too expected Willis to come on screen and save the day, Hoping for some cool fight scene to happen. Anyway I enjoyed it and look forward to a 3rd film if it happens.
