What surprise is that Tatum is a better singer than Gosling and Stone.

What did you think about Hail, Caesar! as a whole?
I felt like each individual scene was well-made and the writing and characters were pretty interesting, but as a whole I feel like the movie was so disjointed and felt more like a series of vignettes rather than one long story. Pretty low on my Coen Brothers list (which is actually still pretty high up on my overall list).

There have been at least twenty threads dedicated to the conscious decision to cast non-singer/dancers as the two main roles in this movie for the purpose of making it seem a bit more realistic.

Life in Epsomsalt's worldhow drab..Epsomsalt say's the acting was bad, despite Golden Globes and soon Oscar nominations. But Epsomsalt doesn't listen to the people in the business. Hey Epsomsalt, are you a paid critic? Surely not, but Epsomsalt's got is all figured out.

I saw Hail Ceasar in the theatre and as I said, it was supposed to be a better dance. They weren't trying to channel a Gene Kelly type dance in La La Land. That's not the kind of dancing that was being done, so no point in comparing them.

All the Powers are telling us La La Land and Gosling and Stone's performces are the best thing since slice bread.
A lot of people highly disagree with that notion, so they want to silence descending opinions.

I don't have to go to Youtube as I saw the film. I enjoyed it as well as the aforementioned dance. It was entertaining but there was no emotional connection. It was one scene in a forgettable film.
