American Honey : Is this worth seeing?

I like interesting independent films, but the reviews have been fairly mixed and the running time seems way too long.

I agree. It just went nowhere and repeated its themes constantly. Dull and the camera work was annoying at best.

It was good but I liked it the first time when it was called "Kids". If they would've changed the director's name to Larry Clark, no one would have thought otherwise.

Run time is too long and not all of the improvised moments work for me but, overall, it's worth seeing. I've hardly ever liked Shia in anything I've seen him in but I was INFATUATED with him in this movie; very good performance. Sasha and the woman who plays Krystal were very good too.

Yes, it's worth seeing, but it is about 40 minutes too long, as the story meanders along far too much. I think Andrea Arnold was a bit self-indulgent and didn't seem to know where she was going with the film. For me, it outstayed its welcome.

I would say no. It fancies itself as the Millenial version of Terrence Malick's "Badlands." Just watch that instead.

You will like this film in direct proportion to your thirst for the real. If you've been disappointed at the devolution of Sundance hits into formula, where indie film has merely substituted its own set of predictable story beats for Hollywood's (e.g., Me and Earl and The Dying Girl, although it tried valiantly to justify them), you need to see this.

And if you have a good eye for cinematic talent, you'll find this completely engaging from start to end. If you're more focused on plot, you may find it dragging.

The film meanders a lot without much of a plot, and it gets boring watching the young punks act like idiots. The film is too long and somewhat boring, but there is some good acting and good scenes. I don't regret watching it but it's not exactly something I would recommend.

It's something a bit different so some will like it based on that. but in the end it's not something i would see again so it's ultimately a Thumbs Down from me. but it was watchable enough for a viewing for whatever that's worth.

It's absolutely worth it. This is a beautiful movie on many levels. If you can get into road movies this is one to see..

I almost didn't see this film and I really would have regretted missing out on it. Anyone who appreciates good filmmaking and storytelling needs to see this movie. Just looking at the lengthy posts across this board about the movie, you can tell it gets people thinking and talking about it. I was amazed to see the young actress who plays the lead role has not done any prior work in the movie industry. And it's definitely the best movie/performance that I've ever seen from Shia LaBeouf.
