The Young Pope : That mole isn't fing real

That mole isn't fing real

so i am on episode 5, a little confused because even if i could break down the italian word for work , they speak it way too fast.

but that main cardinal, i was looking at pictures of him online,
no fing mole,

so either gluing that fake thing on his face was one of three things
1:trying to make him look like a wider Robert Deniro
2:trying to gross out the audience, as a stark juxtaposition of the wonderful scenery and cinematography
3: or Pope Pius is gunna cut that *beep* off

i am hoping for 3, although it seems that this cardinal, at least the point i am at (3 episodes unseen)

i like the mystery of not knowing what they are saying in italian, especially since it pertains to the scheming of the high cardinal and his man servant

Only one scene i truly felt the need to understand the italian was when the top cardinal was talking to the handicapped child, and the child was laughing and laughing and laughing then suddenly the grin is wiped off his face, i assumed in my head that the Cardinal was saying it was no longer appropriate for him to come visit anymore.

Is this the Cardinals illegitimate child? it seems like it has been implied, but not totally revealed, although, not understanding the Italian might be the gap i am missing

Re: That mole isn't fing real

No, it is not stated about the kid being his son.

But the handicapped kid does not understand anything, so it is as if the cardinal talks to his own conscience. He did not say he would not come anymore.

Re: That mole isn't fing real

i figured that out after he came ago,
although i wouldn't be surprised if it is his illegitimate child, or even grand child considering his age

hte italian gets deeper and deeper throughout the series,
ill admit to being a certain degree of lost

I think you were watching a version from Italian TV that did not need subtitles for its audience. The version I watched (online) had hard English subtitles for the Italian parts. This means that it was not intended to be left a mystery, just to make it a little more authentic when two Italians priests are speaking without an American around.

Re: That mole isn't fing real

that i did, it wasn't out in the UK yet,
i will binge watch it when all episodes have aired on my pvr

Re: That mole isn't fing real

they are playing the long game with this mole,

Re: That mole isn't fing real

Bumped for HBO viewers,

Re: That mole isn't fing real

OH yeah! That thing is difficult to look at, nauseating and impossible to ignore. Truly revolting.

the actor, notice the absence of that mole,
also the mole changes from scene to scene, sometimes it looks like it is bumping out, other times it just looks like it is drawn on with black make up and doesn't bump up,

could it be just to contrast/juxtapose the looks of lenny vs cardinal voiello,
wolf in sheeps clothing?

i just want lenny to cut it off

Re: That mole isn't fing real

Dear Mr. Fluffykins, have you considered turning on closed captions to decipher the Italian words?

Re: That mole isn't fing real

when i first watched it, there were no english subtitles,

Re: That mole isn't fing real

oh the mole is real, while the Young Pope hasn't yet been renewed for a second season the mole is getting gnawed off by a rat (for a quarter) and is getting its own spin off series "The good ol' mole"

Re: That mole isn't fing real

The series premiered on 21 October 2016 on Sky Atlantic in Italy. On 20 October 2016, Wildside producer Lorenzo Mieli announced that a second season of the series is in development.[2]

Re: That mole isn't fing real

doh

i think there's still a spin-off series with the mole though

Re: That mole isn't fing real

as long as the mole is paired with the tard-tard kid maybe it jumps ship when cardinal vioello dies, hopes onto the face of the the tard-tard, and gives him superpowers, he rises from his power chair, and speaks in a soft russian accent, and say "holy father, you raped him, you killed him, if he had children you would have murdered him, and i have come to here you confess" and then jude law and super-tard fight to the bloody bitter end,

Re: That mole isn't fing real

Voiello Is derived from the Latin Voellus which means "Big Ass Mole".

Re: That mole isn't fing real

Brilliant.

Re: That mole isn't fing real

He is channeling Igor from "Young Frankenstein" Im waiting for him to say "Mole? What mole?"

Re: That mole isn't fing real

From Austin Powers:

"Yes, nice to mole you MEET you! Nice to meet your mole! Don't say mole I said mole."

"Mole Mole MOLEY, MOLEY, MOLEY, MOLEY, MOLEY!!!"
"My MOLEstake!!"

"MOLE!! BLOODY MOLE!! We're not supposed to talk about the bloody mole, but there's a bloody mole WINKING ME IN THE FACE!!"

"I'm gonna cut it off, chop it up, and make some guacaMOLE!!"

It's not my goddamn planet. Understand, monkey boy?

Re: That mole isn't fing real
