Sully : Propaganda

Propaganda

The two leads in this movie are superb at portraying skilled pilots in an almost impossible situation. But then it veers into sheer anti-government propaganda by portraying the NTSB as bureaucratic hacks who are simply out to blacken these two incredible pilots. If you've seen several episodes of "Air Disasters" you will know the process itself is fascinating enough. But in trying to heighten the drama to ridiculous levels Eastwood is simply repeating his old refrain of the benighted individual up against mindless villains. As Sully himself pointed out, the NTSB did a thorough and professional job, nothing like what was portrayed here. This film is only half "based on real events," the other half is hugely skewed propaganda--"government isn't the solution, it's the problem."

Re: Propaganda

Do you work for the NSTB or something? Or are you a liberal who worships the government?

Re: Propaganda

Standard ad hominem, if you can't address the issue, attack the person.

Re: Propaganda

To call this movie propaganda is *beep* ridiculous and laughable. Now, if we were talking about Clint Eastwood's sniper movie... Or any of Mark Wahlberg's patriotic movies

Re: Propaganda

Total over - reach OP, completely losing the plot and vestiges on reality, unlike Sully who maintained self-control. Clint Eastwood plays it straight down the line as he should. There were always going to be inquiries. To say Eastwood has them peopled by characters representing "mindless villains" is laughable. 🐭
