3rd one was best. It had Carlos dying as a badass (Alice was visibly shaken and the audience almost cried at that scene), cool superpowers unseen before that left us in awe, Alice kicking the ass of those scary dogs, a desert planet, Alice frying a satellite in the most amazing scene ever, that final scene with the clones. That's how you make a movie. Anderson should learn something from that New Zeeland director
4th one was meh. I was so pissed that they killed the clones in that first scene. But at least we got something. And the fight with Wesker at the end on Arcadia makes it worth it. The sets were good, the 3 badass heroes team that could barely defeat Wesker was great.
2nd one had some lousy special effects, but some good characters. It had the nuke going off, Carlos was good, Jill was good, it had Nicholai, LJ.
1st has little rewatch value. It was ok for those times, but I don't like watching it again. However, it has sentimental value for many people who even place it near the top. I hate Michelle Rodriguez and I'm really glad that the clone is still being eaten by zombies and regenerates on the bottom of the sea (at least until the antivirus reaches her). Imagine spending your whole eternity like that! Sheeesh
5th was bad, with the underwater Umbrella facility. We didn't need it, the franchise didn't need it. It seemed that they were dragging it. The explanation was already becoming bad. We had no idea why the Red Queen was doing what she was doing, why Wesker was helping, why did they kill thousands of baby Becky clones? I wish they had just given us SOME answers. Still, the answers were more satisfying than in the Final Chapter. Leon and Ada were as cliche as possible, I didn't like that. I licked Becky though, it gave me that "Ripley" feeling. That last scene, with the group assembled at the White House, joining Wesker in an alliance in the final battle of mankind redeemed the movie. For that scene only it was worth it. It made us dream for years for what was going to happen. The final shot with the flying creatures and the massive zombie army was memorable!
And the worst one for meThe Final Chapter. It is so underwhelming that I can't even talk about it. I'm just so confused as to what the heck the producers were thinking. I love Iain Glen in Game of Thrones, I hated him here. He not only stole the spotlight from Wesker, but he wasn't memorable AT ALL as far as I'm concerned. Back to Racoon city? Why? Nostalgia doesn't make the movie better. Another group of survivorsplease. Sooo many plot holes, that other people have already signaled. I hate movies with plot holes, especially when it's so easy to just watch the previous movies one afternoon and make up a good story!
My ratings are not always like the IMDB average score because I only enjoy intelligent movies.
