Anyone know the reference?

Re: Who is this movie for?

They made it so racial, so I'd say it's for "Progressive"-Liberals and non-Whites.

Re: Who is this movie for?

No, they made a movie, you made it racial.

Re: Who is this movie for?

Brilliant.

Re: Who is this movie for?

Thanks!

I'm assuming, and hoping, that you're being sincere, if not, you've played me for a fool!

I was being sincere. I mean, given your comment how could you think otherwise?

Re: Who is this movie for?

I'll be honest, I can never tell with people on IMDB anymore. But I'm glad you agree!

Liberals claim to love "others ideas", until they find out people actually have other ideas.
Why would you be making anti Liberal statements, when you are one yourself? Only a Liberal would ignore how this movie was constructed to meet the modern PC racial guidelines and would proclaim it's a perfect movie for them.

Everyone loves a keyboard nazi. Heaven forbid my fingers should touch the wrong button on my small mobile device. Good thing there's people like you keeping all us sinners in line.

Everyone loves a keyboard nazi.
No one likes a pretentious bragger, calling himself "a hip dude."

Heaven forbid my fingers should touch the wrong button on my small mobile device.
E and O aren't close enough to use that excuse, sausage fingers. Or is your keyboard integrated into your miniature mobile device, your wiener? In that case it'd be surprising that you text anything right.

Re: Who is this movie for?

Hahahahahahaha, you're making a fool of yourself! You thinj my name is serious!?! My picture is of a heavyweight boxer wearing a walmart batman mask! Figure it out man.

And come on, you want to talk about being pretentious with a name and sig line like you have? Thought Criminal? Your crime is prohibited thought? You sure you're not a liberal? You definitely have the poor me afflicted mind set that many of them bear the burden of. You truly are a spark of light against the dark ignorance of the world! I bet no one understands you, right? And you probably deal with that by writing angry poetry in your journal by the fireplace at the local Starbucks.

Keep up the good fight, thought criminal, all us not-so-enlightened need you out there suffering for our ignorance!

.and seriously, a small penis insult? Sounds like your crime was thinking you were clever.

Re: Who is this movie for?

I'm not sure if it's because of flamers like us, but they're getting rid of the message boards in February. And by flamers, I mean gay. NO, just kidding. I'm not really a fight starter wither. I'm usually a fight ender, but I wont usually stop (like you) until I get the last word. Oh well, one of my favorite pastimes, shooting trolls in the head, is going away. Long live free speech! See ya!

Re: Who is this movie for?

Yeah, I've been off and on here since 2004. But the way things have gotten Im not that sad it's going away. But like you said, its always fun shooting down these ignorant trolls. Stay free, my friend!

No, they made a movie, you made it racial.
Oh Mr Hipster, how sheeply art thou. They made it racial by turning a classic movie into a highly unlikely, multiracial crusade. Of course you liberals will deny that all this was done by mandate. Notice how all the most vile characters are white? PC won't allow for anything less.

Don't bother calling me racist, either, because that's not the truth. I don't hate anyone, but I hate quotas, agendas and thought modification by those who think they're superior to us.

Seriously, you should change your signature.
Being "oppressed" by "bleeding heart liberals" is a disaster for street rep.

Being "oppressed" by "bleeding heart liberals" is a disaster for street rep.
They have the numbers and the positions of power to do so. How do you not understand this? Haven't you heard about all the American's getting fired for violating thought crimes on social media? And since I'm not involved in thug culture, I have no interest in "street rep."

Judging by your pic, you don't appear concerned about "street rep" either. *beep* thugs, *beep* street rep, *beep* bleeding heart liberals and *beep* the thought police.

My Crime Is Prohibited Thought, My Oppressors Are Bleeding Heart Liberals

Re: Who is this movie for?

I know this, I understand this, I bleed over this.
It's still a disaster, image wise. That was a tip on my part.

I don't make a badge of it because it makes me look weak.

What does my pic have to do with anything, let alone "street rep"?

Generally, you don't make a reputation out of being a victim. ESPECIALLY when you are.
God, it's even in your username -.-

Go for irony and sarcasm, for *beep* sake.
Get something different going.

Re: Who is this movie for?

I know this, I understand this, I bleed over this.

Vanity does not befall me, Nikola. Image means nothing to me. You go ahead and worry about image all you want.

I don't make a badge of it because it makes me look weak.
That's your opinion and I'm not making a badge of anything, I'm letting people know that I'm no brain dead leftist and I will never conform. Yours is the position of weakness, because you hide what you are as most non-liberals do, out of fear. Fear that you'll be shamed and guilted.

Generally, you don't make a reputation out of being a victim. ESPECIALLY when you are.
God, it's even in your username -.-
Again, it's all in your perception, I'm not being a victim. I'm fighting back against the reality of American culture. My signature is explaining my username, please get your mind right about this.

What does my pic have to do with anything, let alone "street rep"?
You don't look like the kind of guy that's got a strong "street rep" LOL you're a clean cut, middle class looking white guy LOL sorry to burst your bubble.

Thanks for all your advice, though.

Re: Who is this movie for?

"Vanity does not befall me, Nikola. Image means nothing to me. You go ahead and worry about image all you want."
I generally don't when it comes to petty things.
I suspect you're very much in the right and that you had been giving a hard time by the same *beep* who gave me hard time.
I gave you a hint because I've seen them, more than once, FEED on such frustration and such statements.
It's not about what I think. They'll turn that against you and you're giving them free pass at talking *beep* about you. Which tends to decrease one's maneuvering space because many people are susceptible to gossip and smear.
Nobody can literally fight the rest of the humanity.
It's the civilization. That's how it goes.
If it were up to me - you'd have a right to a duel against the very *beep* you're referring to.
Duels have been established as illegal, so subtler maneuvering is due.

It might be because you're younger than me.
I also did not give a *beep*
With time I realized that actually winning matters more than giving a statement.

"I don't make a badge of it because it makes me look weak. That's your opinion and I'm not making a badge of anything, I'm letting people know that I'm no brain dead leftist and I will never conform."
Which is commendable.

"Yours is the position of weakness, because you hide what you are as most non-liberals do, out of fear. Fear that you'll be shamed and guilted."
Cut the crystal ball crap and lecturing me on my emotions.
Unless you've been following me for days - you literally don't know me and don't know what you're talking about.
If it makes a difference - I honestly believe you're in the right and hope you get somewhere with it.

"Generally, you don't make a reputation out of being a victim. ESPECIALLY when you are.
God, it's even in your username -.- Again, it's all in your perception, I'm not being a victim. I'm fighting back against the reality of American culture. My signature is explaining my username, please get your mind right about this. "
I was trying to be helpful.

"What does my pic have to do with anything, let alone "street rep"? You don't look like the kind of guy that's got a strong "street rep" LOL you're a clean cut, middle class looking white guy LOL sorry to burst your bubble."
No, no. No offense taken, LOL.
The truth is that I grew up in poverty, with the status of a dissident.
The irony is - most people see just what you've described, 'cause of the baby face I've got and my posture, the mannerisms and the vocabulary.
I got laid plenty of times for women thinking I'm a Mason or some such upper middle-class thing.
And had rednecks giving me *beep* thinking I'm the loathsome elite, even though at times I was poorer than themselves.

That should tell you something on appearance and prejudices.

"Thanks for all your advice, though."
My pleasure.

Re: Who is this movie for?

Zyclone Trump, is this you?

Whomever this is, why comment if you are a conservative racist that didn't bother to look at director, cast before you watched ?
I Just hope you paid to see this - Since you didn't enjoy the greatest actor, Denzel, and 'Training Day' Reunion (and by your wording) -

They made it so racial, so I'd say it's for "Progressive"-Liberals and non-Whites.

Let me guess: You're a middle aged, GOP, whiny white male? Lol.

Shouldn't you be at a rally, somewhere?

I thank GOD I'm a generation X 34 yr old 280 lb Ex-college football and minor lg baseball player in Chicago. My playing career with black, white, latino 'liberal' brothers, has made me 1000% grateful; Knowing I have a completely opposite, realistic, and relaxed view of the world compared to your type (old, angry, weak white men) - means everything to my teammates/brothers, my fam, and myself.

Thanks again; you truly make me realize & remind me how blessed I am around the holidays *especially * for my life experiences and period in which I was was born - compared to you.

Oh god I hope this is a copy paste thing and not something you actually wasted time typing. If not, you are pretty gullible and a little bit too sensitive.

Re: Who is this movie for?

That doesn't even make sense.

Re: Who is this movie for?

I wouldn't call it racial. I would say its for the PC crowd who want to feel good about themselves. Can't we all get along, sure we can but it shouldn't be crow bared into a tv show/movie flick. Trying to cover all races to please the PC crowd just makes it unrealistic. At the pace PC is being pushed at us it won't be long before Hollyweird releases a WWII flick and Hitlers advisers will be a hodge podge of races.

Just keep it real.

Re: Who is this movie for?

I've come to the conclusion that only two types of folks are down-voting and bad-mouthing this highly entertaining movie:

1) 1960 version fanboys/purists, which is super annoying since they're all remakes of Seven Samurai.

2) Bigots who probably wanted everyone in the movie to be white.

Personally I think the diversity worked well for it warriors of diverse backgrounds coming together against a single wicked threat.

Reminds me of Mass Effect series, watching all the races who normally would be at each other's throats, all unifying against the single biggest threat to the survival of all intelligent life in our galaxy. Beautiful.

You're absolutely correct, Zyclone.

Re: Who is this movie for?

People with the mental age of a 8 year old .

Re: Who is this movie for?

Who the F are you to say that about people who like a movie? I love Westerns and thought this 1 was very entertaining. You sound like a 5 year old calling people stupid because they like something that you didn't like.

Re: Who is this movie for?

I can't imagine any 8 year olds who would want to watch this. No comic book easter eggs? No aliens or dinosaurs? No superpowers other than Chris Pratt's charm? What does an 8 year old get out of this movie?

Re: Who is this movie for?

It is a movie for kids. It is a parody on a Western, the problem is that the makers didn't know that themselves. Just look at that ridiculous warpaint. Did Denzel Washington recruit a Sith Lord? And of course, the Japanese dude is some kind of ninja with knives, the pioneer is a religious nut and the sexy tom girl walks around with oiled cleavage. The bad guys couldn't beat that pack of clowns, they only have some kind of pirate with a golden earring. I missed a parrot and a wooden leg. So explain to me: how is this freakshow of characters PC? It's totally the opposite.

Then the acting. It's all typecasting. Chris Pratt plays as Chris Pratt, the charming Starlord with a golden heart who plays the joker. And Denzel is Denzel once again, the typical veteran white knight who saves the day. A role he plays in too many movies.

Then there are the Hollywood cliches. No horse casualties, they only got startled. Animal deaths are unbearable for 8-year olds. But they put some nice campfires in wooden carts, which are totally fireproof somehow. Shooting fire arrows is not possible, you don't wear a quiver on your back (too slow, archers wear it on the side) and why the hell does the native dude use a bow in the first place.

And then this ridiculous full charge with cavalry, all lined up. What a nice big target for the clumsy villagers to shoot at. Why cavalry in the first place, don't you want some cover against the flying bullets? Of course not, instead you'll sit high on a horse so everyone can take a good aim at ya. While galloping yourself, it's quite impossible to get a good aim yourself. They just rush into town, got shot and don't care about life in general. Time for plan B: the Gatling Gun. Why not using that thing in the first place ffs. Luckily Chris Pratt does his Starlord thing, yeah we get it: never underestimate a fool. They will trick you, that's what they do.

I wish there was dinosaurs or aliens in it, then I'd know that the movie doesn't take itself serious and it's all for a good laugh.

Re: Who is this movie for?

People who live westerns

Re: Who is this movie for?

They made it for western fans obviously.

Are you thru? Not even close bud.

Re: Who is this movie for?

People who watch movies for the booms and not the bad talky words and scary originality.

Re: Who is this movie for?

such a boring remake and a waste of big cast on a small simple story ..

5/10

Re: Who is this movie for?

Ugh, I know. The cast was the only reason I considered watching it. What a *beep* letdown. Then again, what can you really expect with the Hollywood remakes they've been crapping out.

Anyone who doesn't take movies too seriously.

I am not into Western but I thoroughly enjoyed it. So yeah, for people who don't go out of their way to hate stuff just because others have and it seems cool doing so.

Re: Who is this movie for?

people who are easily amused and looking for some action flick not requiring a lot of thinking.. and not too serious about the sanctity of classics or racial stuff or things like that.

people who can be amused by some simple action, supposedly badass characters, simple plot, heroism and western settings.

that being said I found it to be a run the mill western action movie, but wouldnt judge someone for enjoying it.

Re: Who is this movie for?

but wouldn't judge someone for enjoying it

Wow, that must be the MOST ironic statement ever made.

Re: Who is this movie for?

non-bigots

Re: Who is this movie for?

For anyone in for a good time. It was very good. Maybe the best adaptation of the magnificen seven. It would be god awful if it was an adaptation of the seven samurai however.

but they hung him anyway.
Hanged, Ami. Your father was not a tapestry.

Re: Who is this movie for?

Western Movie Fanslike me

I had fun watching it

Re: Who is this movie for?

Western fans and people who just enjoy entertaining popcorn flicks

To make a great film you need three things - the script, the script and the script -Alfred Hitchcock

Re: Who is this movie for?

I liked watching the movie. I'd make changes, but I'm not the director. That's why I didn't direct the movie. It was fun, and we'll all be OK.

Re: Who is this movie for?

Umm, people who watch movies??

Re: Who is this movie for?

I don't know who it's for exactly. It's obviously pandering to the PC and minority crowd. I don't have a problem with a black lead and multi-racial cast, IF it were a good movie. This ain't it. And it didn't even come close to the original.

Re: Who is this movie for?

Christ almighty. It's for me. A guy who likes to watch a movie with people who right a wrong. Guns, churches, debts paid off, revenge, justice. Without hyperbole, I can say that all these are things that every liberal agrees with. A way to escape to an idea that people can disagree with each-other and still be friends and work together.

Only this and nothing more.
