Hacksaw Ridge : BBC decides not to review Hacksaw Ridge on Film 2017
Re: BBC decides not to review Hacksaw Ridge on Film 2017
Wow, can't believe tax payers are forced to pay for that crap
Re: BBC decides not to review Hacksaw Ridge on Film 2017
I think this is the same BBC that denied Jimmy Savile's activities and covered up his sexual assaults of children and adults male and female for years. Their part in that mess and its cover up would make a pedophile pope blush. No credibility in the BBC. They certainly have zero business being critical of anyone with their own level of shame still fresh in the memories of viewers. That aside, Mel is not, nor has he ever been, a holocaust denier. It's fantasy and believed by idiots who have most likely been duped by the likes of Brooker.

From the second link on findings-
"More than 100 BBC staff including some of the corporations biggest names were aware of rumours about Jimmy Saviles sexual misdemeanours, yet none of them reported the claims, an independent report has found."
It only went on for fifty years with no one at the BBC doing squat to stop it. I don't think anyone needs to hear the opinion of the BBC.

Yes, it's the same BBC that takes 3 billion a year from the British taxpayer in the form of a licence fee, was incredibly biased in it's reporting of the referendum and yet still claims to uphold it's code of impartiality.

Ah well.
The movie is quite good but Gibson is a turd.
It is what it is.

Mel is not a turd.

But Bruno is the type of person who can come on threads and call people names. A real meaningful contributor. I wish him happiness, in spite of himself.
Re: BBC decides not to review Hacksaw Ridge on Film 2017
I quit watching that show years ago when Ross left and I'm glad I did after reading that. I didn't know Brooker was hosting though I love that guy. But not reviewing the film is way unprofessional.

It is unprofessional.
I don't like Charlie Brooker's views but I'm still prepared to watch, enjoy and applaud his wonderful vision for the Black Mirror series.
What a shame that Charlie cannot show the same level of tolerance and grace to Mel.

Re: BBC decides not to review Hacksaw Ridge on Film 2017
They showed clips of it with the end credits whilst giving a dig to Mel Gibson beforehand.
BBC are a disgrace, I havent watched that show since the days of Barry Norman, incredible that they didnt review an Oscar nominated movie telling the remarkable heroic story of Desmond Doss. But the BBC just care about their left wing agenda and protecting their luvvie paedophiles. It always makes me laugh when defenders of that shameful cooperation call it the envy of the world.

Re: BBC decides not to review Hacksaw Ridge on Film 2017
It was Barry's show. I could never sit through it with Jonathon Woss on it. The BBC are despicable. High time the British government stripped them of their funding. It is shameful that people are forced to fund them, with the threat of a fine, and a thug at your door, if you don't pay your TV license.
Re: BBC decides not to review Hacksaw Ridge on Film 2017
The BBC are a leftist joke. They are not impartial on any topic now
Re: BBC decides not to review Hacksaw Ridge on Film 2017
F the BBC. I don't pay my damn TV licence and tax for them to get to make these decisions for me.
Funny how they'll label Mel Gibson as a monster, but they'll protect their pedophile celebrities until the end of time. For those not aware, just google it and have your puke bucket ready for what you'll find out! Sickening!

Re: BBC decides not to review Hacksaw Ridge on Film 2017
Hmm, some serious BBC hate going on here.
The BBC has another film review show hosted by Mark Kermode called "The Film Review" and Hacksaw Ridge was reviewed there.
So, I'm guessing any decision not to review on "Film 2017" was between Booker and the producers rather than from higher ups at the beeb.

Re: BBC decides not to review Hacksaw Ridge on Film 2017
It's a better show now than when Woss was hosting it- mainly thanks to Danny Leigh who is the main critic every week. Since Claudia Winkleman quit as host, the main presenter has changed every week, so Brooker only did the one show.
It was disappointing not to get a review, but as has been said, Mark Kermode gave a brief review on his BBC News film segment (as well as his on weekly Radio 5 Live show).

Re: BBC decides not to review Hacksaw Ridge on Film 2017
Describing Gibson as a Holocaust denier, is simply taking him too seriously.
He is not David fkg Irving.
Actually you would probably take him even less seriously than some 12th century Poobah in Iran making asides about the Holocaust.
Gibson was drunk, angry, busted DUI, and Gibson's background is that his father Hutton is a 'World Jewish conspiracy" fruitloop. There is no reason to presume that any more than some dust from that rubbed off on Gibson, the way some people's parents' ramblings on some eccentric issues.
Gibson would not have the misused intellect or knowledge of the subject to even be considered a serious Holocaust denier.

Despite advertising that they would be reviewing it, they didn't and simply showed a trailer for it at the end after a disgraceful little dig from the presenter, Charlie Brooker on this occasion, that Mel Gibson was some kind of holocaust denier.
How utterly disgusting of the Beeb that their political correctness and desperate virtue signalling would get in the way of Desmond's remarkable story being told.
I'm ashamed of them.
