The ammo was already paid for, why would it matter, not like the chinese are profiting on it anymore.

Much like Cuban cigars when the US had an embargo on cuban goods, it's about political trade reasons that military products can't be from China.

Yes but they are about as chinese as I am I may look like it but I have been here so long it doesnt even matter. Same with that ammo, it could have easily been another countries ammo. I bet the US military didnt destroy it after they bought it

It really doesn't matter, as portrayed in this movie and this whole story to begin with because the whole thing is corrupt across the board. Ok now assume that the appearence or perception of these decisions matter in the political game and you may be on to something.

It's not at all that it matters or that anyone in Washington gives a sht, it's that someone found out about it and made it known so now as politicians and as a country its CYA time.

Once they blow the story up, allow it to calm down, one got 4 years prison and the other 4 months house arrest. Though the perception that goes away with sweeping it under the rug is that we handled it. You can get more than four months house arrest for stealing from the local grocery store.

Because the US Military will not purchase Chinese ammo. On a deal this size all has to be disclosed prior. Sources identified. And NO ONE puts ammo in baggies!! Anyway it's a movies.

The US government is ignorant. For several reasons.

The Chinese might not profit on this shipment of ammo, but it leaves the doors open for them to profit on future shipments of ammo. If there is a sketchy secondhand market for the ammo like this deal, the Chinese could keep making more and using middlemen to sell it to the US military and avoid the embargo.

Also, there were a lot of other sketchy elements to the deal. The guys forged paperwork for audits, cheated people out of money, repackaged the ammunition and erased a lot of traceability, and other things.

Why is there an embargo on China? Is it because their nose look funny? Their face looks funny?

On the other hand, everything that Walmart and other companies bring are made in China.

Let's be honest. The USA government does not represent the citizens. The government is run by rich people who want to line their pockets.

There is a big difference between china selling the usa tvs and china selling the usa military hardware.

They dont use iPads in the Us army then?
