Silence : Like THE MISSION without the waterfalls!!

Like THE MISSION without the waterfalls!!

Except you get the splashing of the sea and the torture of the Christians!! A thoughtful 2.5 hours & how I longed for someone to break out in THE MIKADO song!!

And where is Maria von Trapp when you need her???

Re: Like THE MISSION without the waterfalls!!

Like the Mission but without the Morricone tunes.

It's that man again!!

Re: Like THE MISSION without the waterfalls!!

Damn it, that's what I was going to say!

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.

Re: Like THE MISSION without the waterfalls!!

You guys should rewatch Mission: that was the masterpiece this movie is not, and it was a movie pro-Indios and against the invaders.

This is quite the opposite as teh missionaries of the XVth and XVIth century were always agents of invading countries (Spain and Portugal mostly).

Juliet Parrish: You can't win a war if you're extinct!

Re: Like THE MISSION without the waterfalls!!

Fully agree that The Mission a was all the masterpiece that this was not. The Mission was powerful and emotional, this was all cowardice and cowarding and self-pity. Blah.

***So I've seen 4 movies/wk in theatre for a 1/4 century, call me crazy?**

Re: Like THE MISSION without the waterfalls!!

I LOVED The Mission and hated this. The Mission had a great historical narrative. This was just a couple of fools getting beat down by a less sorry civilization.
This film was miserable.
