Westworld : William became so evil?

William became so evil?

William was a nice guy and not that bad 30 years ago. They never explained how he evolved into such a nasty and angry evil man.

Re: William became so evil?

He's probably always been bad but kept it inside.

CG gore is the worst thing that has ever happened to the horror genre.

Re: William became so evil?

He was a nasty bad guy the entire time, he wasn't the super sweet William we first saw. They say the park reveals your true self. William was a sick and twisted puppy.

Re: William became so evil?

I'm not sure evil captures the extent of it. He kind of enjoyed raping and stabbing her a lot. And this was part of the plotkind of a little f'ed up if you ask me.

Re: William became so evil?

William wasn't so much a nice person as he was a *repressed* and meek person with a lot of inner demons. As the park was so seductive it's easy to see how it could seduce William to the point where he might lose a french fry in his happy meal.

Also, it's really not hard to imagine all of us having the capacity for "good" and "evil". Jekyll and Hyde, etc. It's the human condition.

I also suspect that his life sucked in the real world. Bullied by his bro in law, probably unhappily married, hated his job, etc.

Re: William became so evil?

So far we haven't seen any evidence of him being evil other than being mean to Logan and threatening those guests who were breaking the 4th wall by talking to him about stuff outside of the park.

He's done a lot of mean things to hosts, but that's because he realized they aren't real.

I would venture that most of us have killed far more virtual beings in video games than William has. It's just that his video game uses live action robots.
