Westworld : New Orleans?

New Orleans?

Did Maeve mention New Orleans or some other state? If so, how would she know about the real world?

"A man chooses. A slave obeys."

Re: New Orleans?

New Orleans existed back then, too.

The Hosts have the idea that they live in the 19th Century and have heard of or even think that they have been to places outside the area depicted by the park which would have been real in the time period depicted.

Not all of the Hosts even have backstories of being born in the US (remember Maeve's narrative of coming to America for a new life), much less those few towns.

Re: New Orleans?

Thanks! I'm not from the US so I wasn't completely sure.

"A man chooses. A slave obeys."

Re: New Orleans?

Sure.
I can see where that could be confusing since some cities in North America existed long before the classic "Wild West" period and others came later or were insignificant small towns until later. :)

Re: New Orleans?

It was just part of her backstorythat she believed until nowjust guessing but her backstory had her in New Orleans and she once said she met a man from Batin Rouge that could get her good money for her "goods."

Re: New Orleans?

Westworld is supposed to represent the late 1860's or early 1870's, shortly after the end of the American Civil War. Alot of the weapons technology we see them using was invented in the 1860's like the Gatling Gun.

Re: New Orleans?

I know a lot of people just simply ignored Maeve for three episodes but I didn't. I stated she had a deep backstory and no one seemed to even know what it was. Hector has one too but he's was ignored too.

So here's Maeve's "current" backstory. She stated to Teddy that when she arrived in Baton Rouge "a nice young man" told her "her pussy could earn him two whole dollars a day and he would be more than happy to let her have up to 30%" So that's her backstory and I'm sure there's more to that. Just that's the part she was willing to tell Teddy.

But to answer your question. This is what she was programmed to say to guests for a "real" feel Dang did I rhythm?
