Ghostbusters : Diners reaction to Louis

Diners reaction to Louis

This scene always makes me laugh. Louis runs towards the restaurant yelling and slides down the window. The diners look at him and then just carry right on eating. So much for concern.

Go to bed Frank or this is going to get ugly .

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

I think Reitman said that was his gernal experience with New Yorkers.

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

It is a classic scene lol. It always bothered me that nobody saw the terror dog however. But then again, maybe they didn't care

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

Wasn't it somehow invisible? only Louis could seemingly see it.

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

The people outside the apartment could see the Terror Dog. I just think it's just out of range of sight for the Tavern on the Green patrons (that's the restaurant's name, btw, it's a famous NYC locale. I ate there once, good lobster bisque!). Plus again, the joke is that these are jaded New Yorkers who have seen it all.

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

Ah, I see. So completely the opposite to where I grew up lol. So I guess the just thought it was a normal dog if they were to see it.

How's Lobster? A frozen food chain in the UK have been selling them but I've been too nervous to try it. Not a big lover of sea food. It only cost about £5!

Well that's the suspend your disbelief moment for me, that anyone actually thinks that thing looks like a dog. I mean what pedigree is that? Lol.

Oh, well when I eat lobster it's always with something else, like bisque or ravioli. A lobster roll is really good (a sandwich with lobster bits, butter, mayo, veggies, etc). These are good choices if you don't like sea food too much, as the "fishy" flavor is drowned out some (yes, I know lobster isn't a fish, lol). I'm not a big fan of eating lobster by itself, like with a claw cracker.

Could be the Outsider from The Watchers lol.

Maybe one day I'll give it a go but I have to make sure to have a back up plan in case I don't like it.

They could be chupacabras! 😨

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

Sounds like case for Mulder and Scully!

I'll bleed you real quiet, leave ya here.

Agreed. The dog's seen coming out of the hotel, but no one seemingly sees it from the restaurant (including us). I just think they tried to use the one scene to achieve too many outcomes.🐭

A pit bull with a healthy diet and a bad case of mange?

A pit bull does work, similar kind of big head, lol.

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

They're New Yorkers; if the dog had chased Louis through the middle of the dining room, they wouldn't have looked up.

"Nice doggie...maybe I have a Milk-Bone...."

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

There's also an open door to his right that always drove me crazy.

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

Yeah, I noticed that at the screening the other day, lol. Oh well, he was panicked. 😊

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

This wasthe funniest part. "Nice doggy. Cute little pooch. Maybe I got a milk bone."

Green Goblin is great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1L4ZuaVvaw

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

When I watched this scene as a kid, I felt so sorry for Louis. Thinking why is no one helping him?

It traumatised me a little.

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

Yeah New York will do that to you, lol.

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

He was the only one who could see the monster. Shot from inside showed only him outside.

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

Party guests saw it, as did a woman in the hall, and the doorman, who was actually knocked over by it, and a passing taxi stopped for it.

I think the park restaurant scene cheated the terror dog into the dark, indistinct background. Either that, or the final seconds of the attack had the T-dog dematerialize while taking possession of Louis, as we do not see them after they possess Dana and Louis.

Re: Diners reaction to Louis

Glad somebody else brought this up 'cause I always wondered about that! Those must've been some bulletproof or really strong glass doors and windows that restaurant had, if the dog couldn't get in there (then again he strictly was afteranted Louis to possess him). Then again, might've made for an interesting and scary scene if he had ran inside with the stereotypically rude and apathetic New Yorkers, lol.
