John Wick: Chapter 2 : SO High ratings, (9.8 right now) I tell you why!

Because a movie that gets big hype have high ratings 'til like 2.500 people.
It happened to Suicide Squad, it had 9,9 while 2.000 - 2.500 people voted. Now it's 6.6. Just wait, I'm sure it gets under 8 (Idk, maybe under 7,5 - 7)

It will easily end up in the 7's if it's even HALF as good as the last one which was my favorite action movie of that year.

lol SS was never 9.9 not even when there were 1000 votes don't make *beep* up but bvs started at 9.8 and yes fanboys always rate 10 without seeing but it doesn't matter rating stabilize after about 50000-100000 votes

Suicide Squad did land on 9.9 for a while, approximately within the first two days after the rate-ing has been publicly opened. You just never see it. But then it dropped to 9.8 and then 9.6 to 9.2..until 6.3 as of now.

I was fanatic about it too, the trailer can win an award for 'The Best Trailer Ever Made'. But the movie, hmmmm

I just read a new review on it on metacritic that gives it its worst scoreof..a 25. (out of 100) Its TERRIBLE and I don't even need to see it know that now. The first one was one of the dumbest pieces of cinematic history ever, and now this review says it is just as dumb, and possibly dumber than that one. Murica loves John Wick 2 lol

Well, all IMDB scores will lower over time. I don't think it really has anything to do with "big hype." Obviously, early votes are largely from people who are rushing out to see a movie they are enthusiastic about and are convinced they will enjoy even more true with sequels, presumably. When a film has been out longer and has been seen by more people, the rating lowers. Someday, this movie will be showing on crap cable networks that show crap action movies (whatever the future's equivalent of Spike TV is), and by then the IMDB score will be closer to 7. Further into the future, I expect JW1 and JW2 to both settle in below 7, because they are the definition of mediocrity. They just haven't been seen by enough people yet.
