Bethenny Ever After : Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
She doesn't like or want him around.
People are very simple and their action speak to what them want and believe. When you like a person you treat them like you do and when you don't, you don't.
Many men make this mistake, they think women are nice and "miss" the fact that the woman doesn't actually like them. These women are cowards and don't say so but instead give the "death by a thousand cuts" of miserable behavior and insults until the man is exhausted. The men are stupid for not thinking women are cowards and worms like many men.
I know a lot about where Jason is from and man guys there have a very old time attitude about women. However, many women there are very nice, so the confusion makes sense.

Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
I guess he served his purpose he gave her the baby she wanted. Now she's probably wanting to move on. She doesn't seem like someone who would be happy in a relationship. She does better on her own. Even with the new apartment remodel she's doing it all for herself. She changed his man cave into her extended closet. The compromise was that he got a big screen tv instead. It doesn't see like she is including Jason in her long ranged plans.
She definitely doesn't want a relationship with Jason's family. I feel sorry for the poor sap. He's miserable but he's hanging in there.
The really sad thing is that little Bryn is caught in the middle.
I wish these guys would stop jumping

Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
I've repeatedly compared her, and people like her, to vampires.
If they get a divorce then the kid is likely to be infected with her vampirism (personality) which is that of a selfish user.
That's how new vampires are frequently made.

Agreed, Yet Bethenny says she does not want Bryn to come from a broken home. Then don't break it with your SELFISH BEHAVIOR!! Trouble is Bethenny can't remember what she says from one episode to the next sad really.
I think she is also letting Bryn take a little to much control with the constant saying NO to Bethenny and B giving in just because Bryn says no. I've seen it on 3 different episodes and when she cries not putting her to bed..she will pay later when she lets the kid dictate whats happening. Funny how they all made fun of Alex now look how she treats her own kid.
All it takes is giving in on the little things is where it starts and gets worse and worse from there. I am old school if you put your kid down for a nap its nap time[PERIOD] not when they wimper for a second you give in and say ok babywhat kind of parenting is that and when your kids tells you no you give in an give her a whole icecream that she threw on the sand anyway..when there are kids starving. I need to stop because if she gave in to Jason half as much as Bryn i think things would be much better in the marriage.
The only way to have a friend is to be one.

Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
Kelly,
Imagine a vampire, you don't know he's one, slowly draining you while you sleep. You feel more and more like crap and you suspect somehow he's doing it to you, but he swears he is not. Don't you imagine you might start talking about the person and whining a little?
That's what happens in deceptive relationships like this. Normal people come from parents like Jason has and they tend to give and take pretty equally. Such people would never propose something like building a room sized closet for themselves robbing their FRIEND of space. In fact, nice couples give up their thing for their partner and this can't be accepted by the partner and they try to give, thus creating a circular pattern.
My dad used to laugh that food would go bad in our house because everyone is saving it for the other person. Meanwhile, I went out with a girl whose family were like devils fighting and plotting revenge over who ate the last brownie. I would go and buy them more but it changed nothing, and that is an evil family.
My point is that I'm sure Jason is shocked by his fake wife's behavior and maybe thinks it can't keep happening. Eventually, he will get demoralized and exhausted. He will complain and freak out and then he will be judged by female vampires as the bad guy.

Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
I must be watching a different show because it's always Jason that seems to want to take a dig or start a fight. He's so whiny.

kelly,
That's why many women like this surround themselves with male homosexuals.

Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
Every conversation is a confrontation. She should lighten up. She analyzes everything Jason says to her. They can never have a lighthearted exchange without Bethenny turning it into a debate about who is the better person. It's exhausting to listen to them.
I agree 100%, Bethenny starts by reading into everything Jason says or does. She is neurotic and has a way of talking down to people mostly Jason and its NOT RIGHT. Give the guy a damm break from your insanity. Bethenny needs to chill or he is going to get sick of her whining about every little thing. She gets all she wants with her job now thats not enough she has to jab at Jason every time he has an opinion that is not the same as hers. Bethenny thinks Bethenny is always rightthats a BIG BIG problem for Jason in my eyes.

Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
sph,
As I said in my last post, if you're used to growing up with thoughtful parents you can easily end thinking all relationships are going to be like that. When you end up with a person who is not like that, it's shocking, you don't say anything about their selfishness because of the shock, then when you calm down you start something.
I used to work with a woman whose father used to have sex with her as a kid and then eventually her parents got sick of her and her sister and threw them out in the street. That was in Mexico and later this women ended up becoming a psychotherapist via some military discount program. She had bipolar type symptoms, was a liar, self-defeating, selfish, etc. I would sit and watch her do bizarre things and then be like WTF!!! and unable to speak. Of course, I would take about her until I got so sick of her behavior I made an issue of it.
I was shocked because at work I never lie, am extremely professional, and so forth. I couldn't believe her actions and tried to be nice writing it off as a "bad day" but really she was an insane person pretending to be a sane professional.
My point is that a sane and kind person used to sane and kind people will be astounded by an insane person. The insane person doesn't know they're insane and may be surrounded by insane friends, thus the sane person will sound like the "crazy" one when they complain.
My bet is that shows like this and the housewives program attract dysfunctional people, so Jason seems like the bad one to many viewers.
I see these programs as being like the Roman watching people murder each other for sport and some foreigner complains about the savagery and is laughed at. I think it would benefit people to evaluate why they watch this stuff.

Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
Jason is too sensitive. Every comment Bethenny makes, he whines about it.

Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
Of course not. Jason is too smart for that. Jason takes jabs at Bethenny, but all hell breaks loose all off camera. I don't buy that sweet act Jason tries to put on, not at all.

Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
You guys should take a look at yourselves and ask why you watch the show.
If you think Jason is a bad person after watching two years of this crap, then you might be suffering from a personality disorder like Bethany.

Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
I watched out of kindness for another person.
Such shows don't interest me so they're far more easy to watch objectively.

Re: Why is she so confrontational with Jason?
If Jason is such a force to be reckoned with, why isn't he sitting in his man cave right now? And why aren't his parents welcome to visit on the weekends? And why can't they take family vacations with Bryn's grandparents instead of the paid help? And the list goes on and on.
The poor sap is totally beaten down and if he talks back to the "boss" now and then good for him. He needs to grow some balls and take Bryn and run back to PA where she can be raised with normal loving family members. I'm sure there are extended family members that she hasn't even met. It's a damn shame that she isn't building a bond with her family in her formative years.
I wish these guys would stop jumping
