Would A "Star Trek 4" Work For Star Wars?

For those who have never seen the movie, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (http://www.imdb.com/board/10092007/) is more a light hearted comedy than a sci-fi movie. As it focused more on the characters and less on the story. I even think you'll find that most Trek fans will considered the story to be one of the weaker aspects of the film. But despite that Star Trek IV is still seen as one of the better films in the series because of it having a stronger emphasis on the cast humorously interacting with each other and the contemporary(1980's) environment. So basically it is less about the audience experiencing a epic tale and more about spending time with the characters. It is actually pretty funny movie.

Do you think a similar type of entry would work for the Star Wars franchise? Either as an genuine "Episode" or as a spin-off film? I am somewhat skeptical that it would work because unlike Star Trek, Star Wars has an expectation of being "epic" is scale and I think that "going small" would be seen as disappointing.

Anyway, if you have any thoughts on the matter please share them. Thanks for reading.

no.

I think it would be hard to have a 'fish out of water' type episode (in ST4, the crew don't know how to behave in the 20th century) unless you have star wars characters coming to Earth, or Tau'ri going to the galaxy far, far away.

It would have to be a more general comedy star wars, which doesn't work really well. Try watching a few Lego Star Wars to see what you think.

I kind of doubt it.
