Yes! Too bad he was not there.

Ben was a revelation on season 1it's odd with his talent how he's been under the radar until now.

I'm so happy he won!!! I didn't expect it at all and he totally deserved it. I was hoping he'd be there to give a speech but I know he's in England filming the movie "Ready Player One".

Ben made his role as Danny so nuanced and believable. I think he also helped the show overall to boot!

Ben Mendelsohn's Danny Rayburn is one of the greatest pieces of acting in a drama series I've ever seen. It's one of those roles where you think, "Who the hell is Ben Mendelsohn? That's Danny Rayburn," and incredibly, he did it all in a single season. It's odd he won this year, but I'm happy such brilliance has been recognized, and better late than never.
Props to Kyle Chandler as well.

I don't watch the Emmys but Ben's award was the most deserved of the night, along with Tatiana Maslani for Orphan Black ( I no longer watch it but she should've won within her first 2 years).

Absolutely. IMHO he should have won last year. I like Bill Murray, but his short screen time and role in Olive Kitteridge in comparison to Ben's scene stealing work over the entire season 1 didn't seem right to me.
