Fortitude : Dumb writing 2.0

Dumb writing 2.0

* You are a cop, and find a headless body.
So you run around crying for a while poking randomly in the snow, to find the head.

* You knock on someones door.
They don't open immediately, so you smash in their kitchen window real good, to make sure they hear you.
Plus, if it should turn out they are not home, this is the arctic so leaving their place with a missing window shouldn't create a problem, right?
Plus, you are a cop, so you know how to act responsibly

* Dangerous deadly stuff is getting exposed in a cavern of melting snow and ice.
So you blow up the ice and snow, covering up everything nicely with ice and snow.
Problem solved, for ever.
But
I SAID, FOR EVER!!!

* Angry at someone?
Attack them with an axe, or crowbar.
Its not like there are any laws, or rules, or cops in town.

* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
A dead dog!

* Knock down the mayor, while threatening someone with an axe in the supermarket.
Get a stern talking to!

And it goes on.

Re: Dumb writing 2.0

I think this may be the point entirely! they are illustrating that everyone is infected and some manifest more quickly then others, they may have been for quite some time as this place is full of inexplicable actions. this is like a king story, or the crazies, needful things type of deal. it is utterly compelling.

Re: Dumb writing 2.0

Brilliant!
That also explains why sharknado seemed so stupid.
I'm off to change the grade on all my movies.

Re: Dumb writing 2.0

Well basically it was a small town where nothing much happened untilyou know Mammoth wasps.

With Dan AWOL and Erik off looking for his body the police force is just the girls one of which seems to have lost the plot and the other is doing Ok..ish.

I wondered if the blowing up of Mammoth Wasp crater was a symbolic way of saying Ok viewers the Mammoth Wasp storyline is officially over (buried neath the permafrost) and the new storyline will be about Red skies/crabs etc.

The new storyline by no means resembles the last one, except for people going a bit,you know, nuts.
Mysterious deaths where people are mutilated and a terminally ill character who CANNOT tell anyone they are dying,oh yes and the dogs.

But I'm sticking with it,you know why?

Zombies baby! Fingers crossed.

Re: Dumb writing 2.0

I'm up to episode 4 of season 2, it gets a bit better after the shaky start and becomes more watchable as you go through it.

Re: Dumb writing 2.0

I found s02e01 painful to watch to the point of abandoning it about 40 minutes in, and even then that seemed too long. Just too many inconsistencies to list, such as them being in the middle of nowhere but many living in houses and going to bars more suited to the LA Hills, the absolute idiot police girls, who seem incapable of tying their own shoes let alone being the protectors, the obvious criminal acts with nil consequences (assaulting the governor of the island, beating the fuel depot manager). If these are legit plot devices, then the series has sunk to the level of a zombie show.

Re: Dumb writing 2.0

If you don't like the "obvious criminal acts with nil consequences" then you are really going to hate Season 2!
