ABC have officially renewed 'The Middle' for its ninth season (2017-18).

Yep I have sene that even I haven't looked a the official story so now leads see if it gets at least a 10th season, but it should be winding down in a few years

I can see it running for 11 seasons. At this rate, Season 11 would end with Brick graduating high school. So it seems like a natural ending point for the show, Frankie and Mike's nest being empty. Wouldn't say no to seeing Brick's college years, but eleven seasons seems most likely to me.

I don't know about it ending with season #11 the only shows that I know of that ended at season 11 are Frasier, Cheers and Married with Children. When you think about it it will know be tied with Patrica Heaton's previous hit show Everybody loves Raymond that it ended at season 9, and I bet I can only see it go to 10 if they go one more season after 9.

Even more amazing when considering it's ABC's first show to get renewed I believe, is in it's eighth year and has lately been ABC's #3 comedy and isn't owned by them!

Crazy that it's become one of the safest and consistently-rated shows on TV when I remember worrying about whether they would get a season 2!

I can see Brick's grandson, watching a football game, holding up a finger when Brick tries to ask him a question.

I think it's time to start wrapping up this show. I would take Season 9 to tie up the loose ends and then end it after that because this show, while not bad, is still getting long in the tooth. But, alas, I suspect Season 9 will not the be last season.

I think the show has been consistently enjoyable for me and see no reason to either stop or begin to wind down.
