Bow may have been marginalized in her own career, but it seems to me that her reputation has seen a much bigger revival than that article acknowledges. Bow's flapper persona (along with Louise Brooks') has finally found its place in the zeitgeist of contemporary feminist sensibilities (especially Third Wave feminism), and, if anything, I think that Bow's popularity today is much greater than would have been merited by her meager filmography alone. She has become an icon, close to a century later.
