Macbeth : The soundtrack is something really divine

The soundtrack is something really divine

I have just listened it... and gosh, no words. It's just one of the best things I ever listened. I was staring at the pictures of Scotland listening 'Macbeth', and I have been literally carried away to Scotland of 11th century! It's such a beautiful thing.

Trust me, all of you MUST listen it.

Nolan, I love you forever!

Link please? =)

Re: The soundtrack is something really divine

At your PM. =)

Listen to The Child, The Letter, Dunsinane, Spot, Macbeth and Epilogue, especially. The others are great too. They used this music in the trailers, also.

Could I have a link too please! :)

Re: The soundtrack is something really divine

You find it all on Spotify, just write Jed Kurzel and there it is.

Re: The soundtrack is something really divine

I'd love to have a listen too! :)

Re: The soundtrack is something really divine

Why on earth would that horrible synth droning carry you away to 11th century Scotland? Even metaphorically let alone "literally"...

Re: The soundtrack is something really divine

Because it perfectly matches the atmosphere of the 11th century Scotland. And it wasn't horrible in any way, it was magnificent. Really magnificent.

Re: The soundtrack is something really divine

I've just seen the movie and to me the background music is far too intrusive. It adds nothing at all to the atmosphere of the film and is an annoying background that distracts from what is actually happening on the screen. Quite often the same "tune" carries on over 2 or more different scenes when really it should change for each scene to denote a different atmosphere. Of course, if you have just listened to the soundtrack without seeing the movie you might well have a different opinion, but it just doesn't work in the movie. When you couple the distracting "music" with the fact that a lot of the cast speak in fluent "gruff" it is often very difficult to actually decipher what is being said on screen. Having listened to Macbeth withouy ANY background music at school(a long time ago) on an old reel-to-reel tape recorder I was really looking forward to this movie, but sadly I ended up being disappointed.5/10 only I'm afraid.

Something is calling me, I feel the Gravity, of it all. (Wolf's Rain)

Re: The soundtrack is something really divine

Link, please? I'm at a Shakespeare symposium at this moment...discussing Macbeth. One of the things mentioned today is the influence of the music, etc....Would love to hear the music

Re: The soundtrack is something really divine

The cello based score for this is amazing, and the director was obviously influenced by the brilliant score by the Third Ear Band on Polanski's 1971 version of Macbeth, especially in the darker more ominous scenes.

and interestingly if you added some electric and bass guitar, this score would make an awesome funeral doom metal album.

Re: The soundtrack is something really divine

Link plz :)

Re: The soundtrack is something really divine

Can you give me link as well, please?

Normal is not something to aspire to, it's something to get away from.

Couldn't agree more, the cinematography and the music is majestic.
