Re: Gay harrassment
Committing suicide is also considered a sin in God's eyes. Yet it's included in a Christian movie. What's your point?

Re: Gay harrassment
Not all Christians are the same. Some actually practice the whole "love your neighbor" thing that Jesus taught; not damn and ridicule them.

Re: Gay harrassment
If we're going to go with the "at its core" as the Old Testament, then you are correct. It does have a rule against homosexuality. Of course, it should also be noted that it has rules against trimming your hair and beard, having tattoos, mixing of different fabrics, touching pigs (damn, there goes bacon), eating shellfish, etc, etc.

Re: Gay harrassment
Sin is sin. There are no levels. If homosexuality is a sin, it is no greater sin than lying, cheating any number of "minor" sins that some Christians seem to not apply to them. Apparently there are no other sins than homosexuality and abortion. How about Christians who are reaching out not looking down. If you think something's wrongthat's your right but when you start condemning someone for itthat's judgingleave that up to God. Many of the behaviors chastised in the Old Testament were to set the Jews apart from others. This movie comes closest to approaching the Christianity I try to practice and I need all the practice I can get. I have enough trouble trying not to sin myself that I don't really need to worry about other people. Always make sure your own kitchen is clean before you start sweeping someone else's.
Re: Gay harrassment
If you don't think Christians are supposed to hold each other accountable you might want to read Matthew 18 and 1st Corinthians 5. The whole "Some Christians seem to think that homosexuality and abortion are the only sins." is nothing more than a pathetic straw-man argument. The reason why homosexuality and abortion are such volatile issues in and out of the church is not because of the people who insist on calling both things what they are: sins (as the church has done for 2000 plus years.)

*cracks knuckles*
Alright lets get this done.
First off i kinda agree with you yes people shouldn't bash Gays for being just that. But! Christians can and are suppose to hold each other accountable. There is a diffrence there between saying "Hey man you gotta stop this" and "You did this Jesus shall SMITE YOU!!!!".
But this only applies to Christians. A sinner who is gay is fine (still a sin but they're sinnners what do you expect). But a Christian who is gay is sinning, and its not like lieing its like living a constant lie its a continus sin not a one time thing. Course god forgives you but if your still doing it then your not truely embracing it.

Re: Gay harrassment
And gays in Hollywood bully Christians and conservatives from their media pulpits with their doctrine, so I guess it's also intelligent to ask if a TV or movie included Hollywood behavior, e.g. bullying Christian or conservative kids as well. I'm laughing at the notion that a movie wasn't "inclusive" enough to show every possible type of bullying that exists in the world.
I love the whole playing the victim game that the gay agenda has become while simultaneously forcing their agenda on everyone ad nauseum.
Christianity doesn't bully gays. They simply say love the sinner, hate the sin. It's the same thing they do with people who any behavior that is frowned on in the Bible. But, as evidenced by the injection of a gay agenda question regarding a film that simply tries to promote a positive message, the problem is that gays have decided on a militant agenda that attempts to say that homosexuality and heterosexuality are the same, while at also saying that gays should get special treatment (i.e., hate crimes . . . rape is the world's oldest hate crime, but I guess women don't merit being included in hate crimes legislation?). This vocal minority has decided that gays should be allowed to change the definition of marriage to suit their own personal preferences (under the guise of tolerance, etc. Yet you never hear gay people advocating legalizing polygamy, for example, so it's really a very selective tolerance).
Freedom of speech also gets victimized by this agenda. It's funny how the NBA has been compromised to the point that a player using the "f" word gets a huge fine, but other equally inappropriate language gets little or no punishment - simply because the NBA has been made aware that they will be targeted if they don't tilt the playing field in the "politically correct agenda of the day" direction.
Christians say they don't approve of homosexuality in the same way they don't approve of polygamy, drug usage, etc. It's called a value system. Other people don't have problems with those behaviors; that's their right. The problem is that the gay agenda has decided to violently try to force their belief system on others in a way that Christians in this country have never done. Christians have enough self-confidence to be secure in their beliefs, even if the liberal media tries to marginalize them at every turn. But it seems a lot of the gay community won't be happy until they bully everyone into saying that gay couples are identical to heterosexual couples.
I don't try to force my views on my gay friends, and they don't try to force their views on me. It works a lot better that trying to intimidate people.

You have got to be kidding me! Homosexuals have faced violence and oppresion from Christians for thousands of years. Many have been beaten and murdered simply because of their sexual preference. How often do you see gay people attack straight people for who they love? Never! You are a twisted and hateful person.

"Homosexuals have faced violence and oppresion from Christians for thousands of years."
These "Christians" who bully gays aren't real Christians. These are sick individuals who use their religion as a way to control others. Real Christians are loving and accepting, and most of which don't approve of the violence against homosexuals. In fact, there are many Christian churches out there (like Methodists and Episcopalians, for example) who support homosexuality. So don't generalize because not all Christians are bad. And btw, I've never seen a gay person attack a straight person for who they love, but I have seen gays harrass Christians also. It goes both ways.

Re: Gay harrassment
No but it should be Joey, I think they forgot as they did not include all groups that are bullied. They should of. Been four months and this is STILL a problem, being bullied as Gay Teens. There are closeted Gay Teens because they might be excommunicated, thrown out of their churches, disowned, and no longer recognized or accepted in 'their society'. Sounds the same. It is. SO MANY have taken their lives just for those reasons above and in the movie. The answer to your question Joey is 'No'.

Re: Gay harrassment
It is a christian movie, so of course it doesn't have gays in it
Re: Gay harrassment
No, but gays aren't the only people who get bullied, you know.
Re: Gay harrassment
Someone should make a Christian movie about gay teens that are bullied and may be about to commit suicide and a Christian helps them without judging them.
It's hypocritical to single out gays. No one sin is worse than another; some are just more hidden, or more 'acceptable'.
We need to simply practice the love that Jesus showed in the Bible. When people brought a woman who had committed adultery to him, he told them, "If any of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." And he told her that he didn't condemn her.
Now, Christians are SUPPOSED to follow his example.
