Has the Internet sped up re-evaluation of films?

Do you feel that the breakneck speed of the web means movies that, before, used to take maybe a decade or more to gain some sort of appreciation or understanding, but get them in a fraction of that time?

Re: Has the Internet sped up re-evaluation of films?

I don't, but I'm an older person and maybe not giving it enough credit. I never stream or download films but certainly that and the DVD before it make viewing more films possible than in the past. Videocassettes were bulky and failure prone and of course before that it was really hard to see films more than once or twice that weren't on TV frequently.

Are you talking about word of mouth popularity or more of film discussions on chat boards like this one? I'm surprised that this board is so dead otherwise.

It's hard to say
