Documentaries about good people

As the world teeters even closer to the rim of the toilet bowl, I'm feeling the need for interviews and documentaries with good people. No politicians or religious leaders please, just decent people who have lead full (and possibly inspirational) lives. I'll start off with one, which might will give you an idea of what I'm hoping for.

Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon (2013)

Re: Documentaries about good people

Beautiful suggestions, thank you (except for The United States of Amnesia which took a political turn there). Exactly what I was looking for, I wouldn't have found them on my own.

Re: Documentaries about good people

Great! Glad I could help. I suggested Amnesia because it's more about Gore Vidal the man and focuses on his writing somewhat but doesn't dwell on his politics. I can see why you'd avoid it though if you're looking for that escape. Enjoy the others though!

This is the hard stuff, I suspect. Properly worthy people who put the rest of us to shame. Thank you.

The Salt of the Earth - 2014

Also, one of the best documentaries I've seen.

Re: Documentaries about good people

Might be a bit more along the lines of inspirational than good but Little Dieter Needs to Fly is one of my favourite documentaries. If you're looking to restore faith in the human spirit it should be just the ticket!
