Weren't Pat and Jaco pretty tight?

Yes, they were.

Metheny passed on the project. I can't remember the exact reason.

Pat's absence aside, the film seemed incomplete. It felt like a series of vignettes rather than a thorough biographical account. Rather disappointing.
