Tomorrowland : FBI Warnings

FBI Warnings

This might be a stupid post nobody might reply to, but since this movie was original and flopped it reminds me of a familiar scene we remember from childhood. Every time we put a movie on, whether it's a Blu-Ray, DVD, or even videotape, the first thing we see on the screen before the movie plays and before previews is the FBI Warning about video piracy. Movies are expensive to make, and they'll lose money if there's video piracy. This movie, obviously didn't make enough money.

Re: FBI Warnings

This movie didn't flop because of piracy. It flopped because it had a pretty cover with no enduring substance inside to keep it in theaters.

That said, I'll leave this here:

Re: FBI Warnings

That is absurd, if anything it had too much "enduring substance", so much that it narrowed its target audience below the threshold for a big budget escapist blockbuster. So it tried to expand the target audience with a lot of mindless ultra-violence which proved an especially poor fit with the humanist tone of the film. And finally, in the service of expanding the target audience Disney created a deceptive promotional campaign which simply generated widespread word-of-mouth disappointment.

Here is a link to an interesting review of the film's themes with reasons why it tanked at the box office:

Re: FBI Warnings

Piracy is a crime, regardless of how successful the movie.

In fact piracy becomes worse for a failed movie, because not only did the movie not make enough money, but it's losing even more money by being copied and sold without authorization.

You really need to educate yourself before mouthing off.

Re: FBI Warnings

I'm not saying this movie flopped because of piracy. But, seeing how this movie flopped reminds me of why we see FBI Warnings on video piracy in the first place.
