Sports : How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Exactly.
Rodgers was playing great, like usual, his teammates let him down. Missed FG, fumbled ball, dropped catches, etc.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
I could have sworn I saw Atlanta defenders disrupting Rodgers a lot today. It must have been my imagination again. The Falcons are lucky yet another team allowed Atlanta to hang 30+ on them. Oooops I mean 40+.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Well of course, they did disrupt the Packers offense. That wasn't because Aaron Rodgers suddenly became a bad QB or because the Falcons suddenly became a great defense. That was because 3 of the Packers' top 4 WRs wouldn't have been playing if this wasn't a playoff game.
That was also because Ty Montgomery, a WR his entire career who was forced to play RB due to injury, got injured during this game and didn't return. That means that the Packers #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5 RBs were out.
The Packers OLine got even more injured during the game as well, forcing a DLineman playing at OL toward the end of the game
The team that began the game with 15 on the injury report added over a half a dozen more to the injury report before the game was through.
If the Falcons won primarily due to injury. Not because they had the better QB. Not because they had the better team when healthy.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
You're wrong. Atlanta had the better QB and the better team when healthy. Maybe green bay wouldn't have been humiliated if they were healthy but who knows. If it makes you feel better to be yet another bitter loser who can't acknowledge how good the Falcons are then take comfort in your delusion.
Maybe the packers should lay off the dairy next season.
Maybe the packers should lay off the dairy next season.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Atlanta had the better QB
^ This is all we needed to see to understand how much you know about NFL football.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
I'm trying to be nice here but if you watched the same game I did and still think Rodgers was better than Matt Ryan you are just a dirt stupid homer. You need to lay off the dairy yourself or perhaps just pull your tongue out of double checks ass hole for a second, wipe his jizz out of your eyes and watch the game again. The Packers had a good run but they got beat down today by a superior offense led by a superior QB or in your world does the better QB put up ZERO POINTS in the first half and have to settle for a pittance of garbage points for the whole game?
It's pointless to argue with you because you just stick your fat little fingers in your ears and run away crying. If Rodgers was the better QB this season he will win the MVP over Matt Ryan. In reality if Rodgers was the better QB he would have won both games against Atlanta this season as opposed to LOSING both of them.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Matt Ryan clearly had a better year than Aaron Rodgers, he won both times they played, he won MVP, and he's going to the Super Bowl.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Matt Ryan had the better, healthier offense. He didn't play the position better than Rodgers did.
Ryan's defense was better and healthier as well.
Ryan's defense was better and healthier as well.

Listen friend, I'm not a Green Bay fan and don't need to resort to dishing out insults when I'm talking football.
That's why you don't see me doing it. Ever. But if you know anything about football, you know Aaron Rodgers is hands down the superior QB over Matt Ryan. Hands down. Not even close.
Now does Ryan have a healthier, better offense with better weapons? Absolutely. Is Ryan a better QB than Rodgers? Absolutely not.
You don't need to be a Packers fan to see this.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
No, Aaron Rodgers is not the hands down superior QB. They are both elite QB's that you can't go wrong with, but Ryan beat Rodgers twice and won MVP, and is the hottest QB in the league. I would take Matty Ice over anyone but Brady right now.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
When 5 NFL GMs were interviewed as to who the NFL's MVP was this season, all 5 said it was Aaron Rodgers. Without even being asked who the GOAT was, 3 out of those 5 GMs said that Rodgers was the best QB in NFL history.
They weren't wrong. We've never seen a QB come even close to Aaron Rodgers. I'm sorry Falcons fans, but as much as I want you to win the SB, you're going to have to recognize the fact that Aaron Rodgers is flat out the superior QB.

"We've never seen a QB come even close to Aaron Rodgers. "
Based on what?
Yards?
There are QBs who have more yards.
Wins?
There are QB with more wins.
SB?
There are a lot of QBs with more SB.
TDs?
There are more QBs with more TDs.
So..how is it we've never seen a QB "close" to Rodgers?
He's a great QB but you sound ridiculous.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Based on NFL knowledge. In reiteration, 5 out of 5 NFL GMs named Rodgers as NFL MVP and without even being asked, 3 out of those 5 named Rodgers as the best QB to have ever played the game.
There is a reason for that. Rodgers is one of the few QBs to play the game who could play in any era and still be successful.
In fact, all you really need to do is look at his statistics in comparison to other arguable GOATs like Tom Brady. Aaron Rodgers absolutely destroys Tom Brady in both regular season and playoff statistics.
For example, in the playoffs:
Playoff Stat-Rodgers-Brady
Completion %63.5%61.9%
PPG28.7526.2
YPA-7.56.8
TD %-6.0%4.8%
INT %1.7%2.5%
QB Rating-99.487.4

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
So five current GMs named a QB that is currently playing the best ever lol?
It's certainly lucky for them the best QB ever is one that is currently active and playing well when they were asked huh?
And Brady isn't the only QB ever to play..and you ignore little things like Brady having more playoff wins than Rodgers has playoff games lol.
Let me guess..you're a Packers fan?

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
^^ Demonstrates NFL ignorance. Entire teams win an lose games not QBs.
If you knew anything about NFL football, you wouldn't be blaming a QB for giving up 600 yards on defense.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
That's truebut you're the one claiming Rodgers is the best ever by cherry picking numbers with zero context, not me, lol.
I didn't blame Rodgers for giving up 600 yards BTW.
You're a Packers fan and you sound ridiculous.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Of course you did. When wins and losses are the product of entire teams, and you know it, you don't suddenly go around saying QBs have "x" amount of wins. Saying QBs win and lose games just goes to show how little you know of the game of football.
And again, these NFL GMS were not asked who the greatest ever was. They were asked who the NFL MVP was. 5 out of those 5 said it was Rodgers. 3 out of those 5 willingly admitted that Rodgers was the greatest ever, without even being asked.

So why did you use Rodgers having a SB win as proof he's better than Ryan?
A SB is a team win, right?
You're terrible at debating.
You said we've never seen anything like Rodgers lol.which is demonstrably false. You want to use team wins to back up,your argument for Rodgers being better than Ryan but you discount them when Rodgers is compared to brady.
You're an absurd homer dude. Let it go.

Says the guy who is forced to resort to making things up about the people he debates with.

Let me know when you can find a QB with Marino's arm, Montana's touch, and Elway's legs, who can throw on the run to his left with pinpoint accuracy.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Who were the 3? They'd have to pretty old to have seen every NFL QB ever lol.
And what about the other hundreds of current and former NFL GMs? Who did they say was best ever?
BTW .one of the GM's wasn't Ryan Grigson was it? Because that guy's a moron.
You're a Packers fan and you think your QB is the bestest ever..I get it.
But have you ever noticed how whichever QB is playing great at the time "who is the greatest QB ever" is asked usually gets called "one of the greatest ever" or "the greatest ever"?
Like if you asked that question in 1988 it would be Joe Montana but if you asked it in 1958 it would be Johnny Unitas or Otto Graham ..if you asked in the 70s Bradshaw would have gotten a lot of votesif you asked after SB 3 Joe Namath would have gotten a lot of votes.etc?
Just a year ago people were saying Rodgers had lost a step .remember that?
Rodgers didn't play in the same era as Unitas. Brady didn't take the hits Namath and Bradshaw did. Manning didn't have the defenses Bradshaw did. Bradshaw didn't have the benefit of playing in an era where defenses were castrated like Manning did.
You are a perfect example of recency and homer bias.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
I totally agree that every era is different. At the same time, it's not surprising you would resort to ad homiems when proved wrong.
These NFL GMs interviews were conducted by CBS.com and bleacherreport.com reporter Mike Freeman.

As it so easily can be seen. You're wrong.

Proved wrong how lol?
You don't even know who those GMs are.
They're stating an opinion.
Like I said last year everyone was saying Rodgers was past his prime.
Look up "recency bias" buddy.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
What "everybody" does has nothing to do with me. I've been pointing out Rodgers is the best QB in the NFL for about a half a decade now.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
If you knew anything about NFL football, you wouldn't be blaming a QB for giving up 600 yards on defense.
I wonder if you stick with that attitude when talking about Tony Romo? He takes all the blame for the Cowboys not winning in the playoffs from a lot of fans. They ignore his impressive stats and historically high QBR.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Not to mention I didn't blame Rodgers for the D giving up 600 yards in the first place.
The guy is a hypocrite, he holds up having a SB ring as proof that Rodgers is better than Ryan then turns around and uses the Packers D as an excuse for Rodgers not having as many playoff wins as Brady.
I wonder why Matt Ryan doesn't get to use the same excuses when compared to Rodgers?

I noticed Brady did ok today without his top receiver and that Rodgers did fine last week without his top receiver.
Yet this week I saw someone using Nelson's injury as an excuse.
Rodger might just be lucky he played the Cowboys last week. That's like a guaranteed win in this century.

Why would anyone who understands NFL football blame a QB for the failings of their defense?
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

I don't know. Why do people blame Romo for all the Cowboys failings as a team? They were even worse in the 10 years before Romo got there.5 of those years with Aikman.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
You should probably ask the same type of people who are blaming Rodgers for his team's decent playoff record.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

It's different with Rodgers. He's being painted as a god in recent weeks (after being dismissed earlier in the year) while Romo has always been blamed for the Cowboys problems.
So finding the few people who aren't claiming Rodgers is "the best ever" is a tough task. It's not like he needs defending lately. The truth is he wins when the team plays well and loses when they don't. But he has been getting all the credit for the wins.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Rodgers was finally being recognized for how good he is, sure. That's in part due to his 'run the table' proclamation paired with the quality of his play, which quite frankly may be unmatched in NFL history.
Rodgers was more of a reason for the Packers success than other QBs. Even without a running game, even with an injured team, even with a bad defense, even when being forced to pass 3-5 more games worth of passes than Ryan and Brady, the Packers still made the playoffs. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, Rodgers led the NFL in TDs, both rushing and passing.
Rodgers simply put his team on his back. You can't say that of any other QB in the NFL.
It's not like it took this season to recognize Rodgers doing it either. Rodgers has been performing like this for years. As Cowboys coach Jason Garret admitted, he's top 3 all time, but there is at least 3 NFL GMs who disagree with him. Those three believe he's #1.

If you mean the recent love affair with Rodgers, that's happened before. And it goes away when he doesn't play well like earlier this season when he was missing open receivers. He got hot and the media started exaggerating like they do with other players who are in vogue.
When the Packers aren't playing well, Rodgers doesn't play well either so he hardly puts them on his back. He didn't do that yesterday for instance. And a couple of seasons ago he didn't play well at all when the team was having injury problems. I have friends who are Packer fans so I know when they are complaining about him. It happens every time he doesn't play well. They were saying he was done earlier this season and that the team needed to start looking for a replacement.
I can say that a player like Romo carried the team on his back during his career because we saw it in action. They were 78-49 (.614) when he started and 10-23 (.303) when he missed a game. It was a dramatic difference and showed just how poor the team was. He was truly making them relevant by himself. Of course that will never be enough in the playoffs.you really need a good/great team to win there.

Show us where I ever said that. Good Luck, you'll need it. Because it was never once said.
I never once said a ring is more important than being good. That would just prove NFL ignorance.
That's like saying that Trent Dilfer is better than Dan Marino.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
cuz he's so athletic lol
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Now you are just showing you are a Rodgers cock sucker and an idiot. Someone who has only won one title is certainly not the GOAT. And saying "we've never seen anyone like Aaron Rodgers" is such a drooling fanboy statement. Yeah he's a brilliant, elite QB, but he's not the GOAT and Matty Ice had the better year.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Yeah but 40'YO Matt Hasselbeck beat "Matty Ice" so Hasselbeck is better.
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
You're trying to be nice? hahaha
Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
Rodgers would have looked pretty good going against that Packer defense. No pass rush and receivers just running free play after play.
Rodgers lead them to some scores in the second half when the team stopped dropping passes, fumbling and missing field goals.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?
This is the funniest thing I have ever read. Ryan better then Rodgers. Better team this year due to all our injuries.
When Ryan wins a superbowl & 2 MVPs, then you may have a conversation. But not today. Ryan is good but Rodgers is a legend. When all the dust settles and when Aaron retires in 5-10 years it will go down between him, Montana and Brady as the best QB's ever. Ryan will not be in the conversation.
Lawrence of Arbia, he was an English guy who came to fight the Turkish

10 years? Rodgers has to be 33-34 years old. You really think he's going to be playing another ten years?
You're as bad as Patriot fans that think Brady is going to be playing until he's 45.
