Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life : Rory voice changed? Also, the quick dialogue and witty chemistry fails.

I just finished the first part and I have to ask since its been DRIVING ME CRAZY. Has Rory's(AB) voice significantly changed? Like completely. I know its been 8 years, but barring some sort of medical issue that im asking about, did she completely not try to pick Rory's tempo and speaking quality back up? I know alot of people had an issue with AB's voice and acting in the first place, but I always found it charming in this one role and its completely different. Its not like she was a child and grew up, its just the complete tone, pitch, speed, inflections. everything.

Also the normal GG rapid-fire dialogue has significantly slowed and in some parts almost seemed lazy. After trading a couple quips and then Lorelei answers with a simple yes and a chuckle.. its just so off.

Completely disappointed so far.

I think it's because Alexis had her normal voice in the first season and then it got very high pitched in the later seasons for whatever reason. Her voice was fine in the revival to me but the dialogue and writing are very disappointing.

It's strange how the dialogue didn't feel the same. It didn't feel quick or witty. Perhaps this is part of the "George Lucas phenomenon"? I wonder if asp has lost her magic touch or if she did not have people surrounding her to challenge/edit her writing and make it better like she did when she was forced to work with an actual network.

I do think that networks and movie studios often get in the way of great writing, but it is still important to have a team to challenge and edit ideas from the main writer. I feel as though the revival lacked restraint and asp went wild with her own ideas without anyone to challenge her and say "maybe we should edit this a bit."

She didn't use that fake baby voice that she was using in seasons 2+. Thank god. Her baby voice was one of the worst parts of the original show - and I'm a big fan of GG.

She used her normal voice. Rory in Season 1 was good. Her voice was normal and she wasn't irritating, season 2 - 7 she was extremely irritating! The baby talk was ridiculous! Especially for someone who apparently wanted to be a journalist. Revival voice Rory was fine but her character and storyline was awful. I'm ok with that though. I don't watch GG for Rory.

Her voice has changed, even from the "normal" tone that she had in season 1. Even from Interviews, she sounds more mature. It's not as obvious as on the show, because she used a sort of baby voice and mumbled through season 3-4-5-6 and 7 and then suddenly, no more of that.
