Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life : I'm glad they SWORE on this show…

I'm glad they SWORE on this show…

that's the beauty of online viewingyou can hear some cussing..but i'm glad we got to hear the s wordwish we heard the f word with it lol

Re: I'm glad they SWORE on this show…

We did get a pretty hilarious "what the f" from lorelai after the first scene of the musical.. that made me laugh out loud.

Re: I'm glad they SWORE on this show…

Emilys whole rant about the DAR was my favorite moment in the show, hearing Kelly Bishop say bs so many times was just priceless. I couldn't stop laughing and it was so awesome to see her characters development. Her arch is easily the best part of the whole revival.

Oh the joy of hearing Michel scream, "You BITCH!"

It felt about 16 years in the making. Seriously, how is it possible that Michel was ever Michel without swearing?

Re: I'm glad they SWORE on this show…

With the exception of a few words from Emily in the fourth episode, they didn't swear on this show. In the first three episodes there was no swearing (unless you count words that also occurred in episodes of the original "Gilmore Girls").

"Crap", "ass", "bitch", "piss" all occurred in the original Gilmore Girls run. Only one word was new to the revival and that word was found in only one of the four episodes.

Re: I'm glad they SWORE on this show…

I was watching season 4 the other day, and the episode Soukie misses the sink guy at the Dragonfly and Lorelai goes to her house to yell at her; and Soukie's looking for something while saying "shoot" on repeat then Lorelai says: "If it's ever time to use the real word, it's now!"

Hilarious.

Re: I'm glad they SWORE on this show…

I remember that. Pretty funny. I imagine that if these characters existed in real life, most of them would use the "real words" from time to time. I thought they might do so in these new episodes because they were on Netflix, but apart from that one scene with Emily, they didn't (though there a scene where Lorelai said "holy shi" but stopped before reaching the "t"). At least this kept things consistent with the original show. The other avantage is that it also meant that when we got to that scene where Emily swore, it was all the more powerful because it was all the less expected (and her character is probably the one we expected it the least from).

Re: I'm glad they SWORE on this show…

Emily saying b*llsh*t and t*ts killed me. It was so funny. In general, Kelly Bishop's acting and Emily's storyline was the best part of the entire revival.
