Not to mention, it was dumb for him to do that before he actually got any. He basically clock locked himself.

I completely agree. There's no reason for him to have to lie or make stuff up. Girls were lining up to go out with him.

what would have been a nice change of pace would be for a guy to have a girlfriend he's crazy about and have another girl lie about sleeping with HIM and let Betty prove HER to be lying about it.

But no they always have to make the jock out to be the bad guy.
