Moonlight : Not long enough to be effective

Not long enough to be effective

Anyone else feel this way? Every act was hurried along never got areal sense for the characters. There was something amazing and real there but it just never got there, which is disappointing.

Side note, this goes to show how rigged oscars can be with all the 'oscar so white' bs. sad days when everything is forced to be fair.

Re: Not long enough to be effective

I disagree. It went full circle for me, especially with showing him as a child again at the end.

While a part of me wants to know what happened between Kevin and Chiron, the ending is perfect for me.

Just the simple fact that Chiron was able to really reveal himself to Kevin. His armour sheds in the end. There was something powerful in that for me.

Re: Not long enough to be effective

I didn't feel they were hurried at all; however, the last act was the shortest and my most favorite. I wish I saw more! I'd rather be left with wanting more than wishing it hadn't dragged on and on. I was really captivated by Chiron and Kevin in the end. I can't stop thinking about it. It felt like I knew them and I'm sooo happy for the direction their lives seem to be going in!

Re: Not long enough to be effective

"forced to be fair".??? You say this as if it's a bad thing.

Newsflash: Things SHOULD be fair from the beginning. Nothing should be "forced" to be fair. If they are being "forced to be fair" then that's a GOOD thing because it's reverting something to its natural, normal, fair state.
