Split : What was the twist?
Re: What was the twist?
There was no twist just a reveal showing Bruce Willis's character from unbreakable
Re: What was the twist?
So the movie was a huge waste of my time?
I kept waiting for something to happen that would make it interesting.
Turns out I didn't miss anything?

Re: What was the twist?
There was a twist, but you would only understand it if you've seen the movie Unbreakable.
The twist is that the movie takes place in the Unbreakable universe.

Re: What was the twist?
I have seen Unbreakable, and I like Unbreakable. That just seemed like an tacked on thing on the end that didn't make any sense. I'm not sure Unbreakable deserves its own universe. I reject that as being a twist, I consider that a nod to an older movie that was much better.
Re: What was the twist?
Unbreakable is one of my favorite movies. I had goosebumps at the end of split and revealed Bruce. This deserves its own universe.
Re: What was the twist?
Yeah there was no twist therefore the movie was a total waste of your time
Re: What was the twist?
@steve-peyton I kept waiting for something to happen that would make it interesting.
That's what I did. I knew there was a twist, so I thought that the twist would make the stupid scenes that happened earlier make sense. But no.

Re: What was the twist?
The twist was that he was some type of animal or demon. Not just a mentally impared human. He some type of super villian which makes perfect sense in why Bruce Willis' character from Unbreakable shows up at the end. Took me a few minutes to put that together. It makes me wonder if all M. Night's movies are in the same universe since all of his films have a humanized type supernatural character. I think the answer is yes.
Re: What was the twist?
The twist, was the fact that the so called "beast" i.e. his 24th personality was real. One would think that it would be impossible for a person with multiple personalities to transform to the extent that he did.
Re: What was the twist?
*SPOILER*
What was the connection between Casey and the psychopath?
When they were first kidnapped, why didn't she react?
Why did they cut back to her childhood where she had the gun?
Was SHE the real psychopath?
I'm sorry, but I just didn't get it.
Thx

Re: What was the twist?
Twist could be that McAvoy's character didn't exist, Casey imagined it all and she was the one who was living in the area below the zoo to escape her abusive uncle. That's why McAvoy doesn't notice her in the car at first at the start when they are abducted, it's just her.
Re: What was the twist?
So, she abducted the other two girls? Or they were also part of her imagination? She imagined the therapy sessions with Dennis, or she went to Dr. Fletcher herself? I don't know wich option makes less sense. Did anything that we see in this movie actually happened according to this theory?
Re: What was the twist?
"That guy in the hairpiece! That was Bruce Willis the WHOLE TIME!"
All I could think of and tell people after I saw "the twist". It was Bruce Willis the whole time

Re: What was the twist?

Re: What was the twist?
the twist is that casey got molested
Re: What was the twist?
I thought the twist was she broke free from being held captive only to have to return to her uncle who molests her
Re: What was the twist?
