Sports : How about that Aaron Rodgers?

How about that Aaron Rodgers?

The hail mary didn't come on the last play of the game, it came on the play just before it.

3rd and 17 after just being sacked and somehow holding on to the ball. Result? No problemo, pass goes for 36 to set up a 50 yard field goal for the win.

This guy is amazing.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

When he was walking on the field for the final possession he had this look like "I got this". Cool as a cucumber.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

It helps that they were tied and not behind, but yeah, Aaron has been there before.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Because that year's Giants had a better defense than this year's Cowboys?

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Because that year's Giants had a better defense than this year's Cowboys?

Nope. The 2007 Giants' defense was #17 in the NFL in points allowed. The 2016 Cowboys' defense was #5 in the NFL in points allowed.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Leave it to AH Fan to cherry pick a stat and think he did his due diligence.

Only 5 teams gave up more passing yards than Dallas. They were terrible.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

He's pretty good, eh?

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Yea yea yea he's great

you re gonna need a bigger boat.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Buck up. Your team is young and the future should be bright.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Cowboys should be good for a long time. Then again, I thought that about the Niners anfewnyearsnago. That was before their coach left and Colin K turned to garbage. Prescott looks legit though. He's got pocket passer skills.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

He's a damn good player, but he must also have a horseshoe up his ass.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

There's no proof he puts stuff up his ass. For all we know that hot chik is really his girlfriend and not just a beard.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

He was born with it in there.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Nothin' lucky about his performance today but yeah, his arm strength has led to some good fortune.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Nothin' lucky about his performance today but yeah, his arm strength has led to some good fortune.

If you complete a 36 yard pass to set up a winning field goal with only 3 seconds left, that says something about the other team playing the worst defense possible. A mediocre defense would give up 15 yards, a bad defense would give up 25 yards. Both would have gone to OT. To give up 36 yards is absurdly horrific defense.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

If he were great he wouldn't have been 3 and 17 to begin with.

Nothing is more amazing than how Rodgers gets credit for everything. Montgomery and Cook make great catches and Crosby kicks a 50+ yarder to win. Boy, how about that Rodgers.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Please. Without Rodgers they get blown out. That dude is insanely good. He puts the ball wherever the Hell he wants. Yes, his receivers make great catches but he also put the ball exactly where they are the only ones that can make great catches.

What sets him apart from other great QBs is he has the ability to bounce around back there giving his receivers time to get open AND he has the arm talent to throw guys open. Haven't seen anyone quite like him.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Was his interception in a place only his receivers could have gotten it?

Crosby and bad Cowboy coaching won that game. You'd be damned sure saying he lost it if he missed those last 2 field goals.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Really? You pick one pass and make a point out of that? Yeah, he made a bad throw there. Nobody is perfect. But he consistently puts the ball in good spots for his receivers to make plays. What has Cook ever done? He's the guy they talk about as a great talent every year and he does nothing. Than yesterday when playing woth Rodgers he looks like friggin Kellen Winslow! Not a coincidence.

Crosby was great but he doesn't get a shot at that FG without a ridiculous throw by Rodgers on the run.

Boy, you got me confused with a man who repeats himself- Omar

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

There have been so many passes, including a few last night, where I thought he got lucky sneaking the ball past a defender, then you see the replay and realize he put it exactly where he wanted. I feel blessed to watch him every week.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

You feel "blessed" because you get to watch a QB?

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Yes. Some people have to watch the Bears their entire lives and I feel sorry for them. Do you think watching someone like Alex Smith every week is nearly as fun as watching Aaron Rodgers?

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

"Blessed" has kind of lost its meaning huh?

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Nope.
Not at all when watching A-Rod.

I feel so blessed that the Packers made the right move to get him for our team.

Amazing how all those other teams passed him by but somehow Ted Thompson and the Packers scouts knew exactly what they were getting.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Oh my! I apologize for offending your religious sensibilities! I'm thankful for the small blessings along with the great, my friend. Some people don't even get the small ones.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

You didn't offend me. I just think saying you feel "blessed" because of a QB is dumb.

Knock yourself out though.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Believe it or not, your intended point was perfectly clear in your original response. Give yourself some credit. I think this whole interaction has been a blessing in disguise for both of us.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

That's a good point.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

For the people praising Rodgers now, don't forget people were ripping him apart early in the season, saying he was "done". Rodgers has been the same player through it all, just public opinion is fickle.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

They were ripping him last season too.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Wasn't so much the public saying that as is was sports radio & tv, which is indeed quite fickle. Most football fans, ones that understand the game anyway, didn't think he was done.

Exactly.

The hype train gets started and the media just goes overboard too. One of the radio announcers today was gushing over Rodgers' ability to watch a receiver while knowing where the line of scrimmage was as if no other QB can do that. "He has control over both eyes!"

The media just goes crazy at times and players get overrated beyond belief with the snowball effect.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Like Steven A. Smith says:

"Aaron Rodgers is a baaaaaaad man!!!"

Better than Brady.
And that is fact and not opinion.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

He's amazing, but that pass needed a magnificent catch to be successful.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

On his best day, the man is unstoppable. The question is how good will he be in the next game(s) ?

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

It was Montgomery and Cook who made Rogers look good by catching some of his " not quite right " passes.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Easter Sunday lunch at the Rodgers

Father: Hello sons. So what's been happening in your world?

Oldest one: Well I lead a normal boring life etc.

Aaron: Yeah father I've been crushing with the Packers. Pretty amazing life really.

Father: Yeah I thought you had a decent season. So Jordan, what about you?

Jordan: Um, well you remember that girl I brought over with some cameras? We are dating now and I'm working in the sports media

Father: Oh fck, that made it on air? Well that's a bummer. Now Aaron, how is your pre summer training going for next season.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Not a Hail Mary.

3rd and 17

And it was 3rd and 20.
You were off by 3 yards which is 9 feet.
Which means that ball had to travel farther than you are giving him credit for.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

The pass went for 35 yards, regardless of the line to gain.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Enjoy watching this man play while you can. If you ever have the opportunity to go to a game he's playing in, take it. Trust me.

Just look at this:

WTF. How the.

That's the best, most ridiculous pass I've ever seen made by any QB.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

Are you Serious?

Just off the top of my head:

You need to watch teams besides the Packers sometime.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

You need to watch the Packers for once. Rodgers had multiple plays like that this season alone.

The Rodgers play linked above is hands down better than Eli Manning's. It took far more skill and arm strength.

Re: How about that Aaron Rodgers?

The potential GOAT just put up 0 points in a half against, statistically, a terrible, terrible defense.

25th in yards given up, 28th in passing yards. 27th in points given up.

Yikes.
