Stranger Things : Why didn't they do anything compelling and real about CIA's MK ULTRA?

Not that I believe many people will already know about it, but just peppering in references to the CIA experiments with MK ULTRA and then make it a big nothing. And it was real thing. Even sensory deprivation was given such a mockery of representation when that is a fascinating world worth everyone's time to explore (and not as traumatic as MK ULTRA) Time for folks to start googling about real stranger things down the rabbit hole ye go!

There's a lot of info about it out there actually. And in any case its really stupid of them to name drop it then for a show that doesn't have any actual balls and is completely vanilla. They just tried to buy some credibility or something but it only makes me look like they are pusses.

If the illumnati exists and is oh so powerful then why would they allow Starry Eyes to happen? Why are the directors still getting jobs?

What do you mean they were not villainous??

I mean they weren't at all worthy of eliciting the type of suspense one might expect in a storyline of this kind. They were nothing like what the CIA did during their MK ULTRA experiments whatsoever. I guess I got my hopes up in the middle of the show that it would be really hair-raising and historically accurate in their depictions but all the Duffer brothers really did was co-opt the MK ULTRA name and do jack all with it. For someone that knows even the faintest trace of MK ULTRA, this show was a complete let down and it could have been amazing.

Stealing children (out of the womb) and torturing them with the goal of using them as weapons is not hair-raising?

In more skilled hands, I'm sure of it. As it was actually done. This show was not done effectively enough to raise a single hair. Which is sad, similar things happened. Just google it.

This show is boring filler with no pay off.

I was watching a show with pansy government types doing nothing except kill a cook. Have you never watched a good show with a good villain?

They weren't. Not in the slightest bit intimidating, scary, just milquetoast at best.

Everyone is showing their lack of cinematic knowledge of true villains. Damn. I'm sorry for people that think this is a good show now. Y'all made me change my opinion.
