Re : Name The #1 or Top 40 Hits! (ReDux & Pt. III) 11/10/2016

How to Play :

I or someone else will post a question about a song that made it into the
Top 40 (or to #1) on the US Billboard Hot 100 (pop) Chart. Then, anyone who knows can reply.

Then, either post their own Q. or wait for the next one from myself or someone else.

Rules :

A. Internet searching is 100% A-OK!

B. After someone or more than one gets it, they can opt to either :
Wait for me to post the next one OR come up with one on their own...as long as they do know it was a hit song.

**** C. To make this more interesting,if you like, post a link to
the song as your answer. Either instead of a written one or , do both.

I'll start with the first one in the next post.

At the end of this #1 song from 1964 , the guy is
stepping into a passenger car but hasn't put the other leg in yet.

Seems he's about to travel to a city in
Louisiana and put on some heavy jewlrey while there.

What was this songand by which band?

Sorry for my delays in re-posting here.
I've been on but had gotten distracted by other things.

Your answer was right Bam.
At the time, 'Rising'was one of the most 'seriously' themed #1 hits.

In the US, it was the Animals only #1 hit out of over a dozen.

Q. #2 :

This #1 hit from 1974 shares (almost) the same name as a hit song by Bad Company.

"Feel Like Makin' Love" by Roberta Flack.

Actually, when you say "almost" the same name, that suggests to me that one of the two acts spelled out the word "Making" while the other one used an apostrophe to say "Makin'". But I don't know which was which for that.

E. Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield

A big comeback for him after hitting the top 15 ten years earlier, then pretty much disappearing from the US music scene. I believe his popularity on General Hospital helped revive his music career.

Re: Name The #1 or Top 40 Hits! Pt. III (Question #3)

Yes, that's the one Bam.

General Hospital won him a new legion ofyoung girls (and possibly house wives
too) as fans. For the next 7 years he did well but he never had another #1 hit

He had altogether 17 top 40 hits in America :

1971 "Speak to The Sky" #14

1981 "Jessie's Girl" #1 (2 weeks)
"I've Done Everything for You" #8 (Written by Sammy Hagar)
"Love is Alright Tonite" #20

1982
"Don't Talk to Strangers" #2
"What Kind of Fool Am I?" #21 — —
"I Get Excited" #32 — —

1983
"Affair of the Heart" #9
"Human Touch" #18
"Souls" #23

1984
"Love Somebody" #5 (Great song from a lousy movie "Hard To Hold")
"Don't Walk Away" #26
"Bop 'Til You Drop" #20

1985
"Bruce" #27 (Orig. rel. in 1980)
"Celebrate Youth" #26
"State of the Heart" #22

1988 "Rock of Life" #22

He left the scene for 11 years after that and has only rel. 7 singles since.. This
year included : "Light This Party Up" and also a song called, "Down". None charted at all.

The ansswer is : It Must Be Him by Vikki Carr (Reached #3 in the US.)

Before that, her only charting single was 1962's
"He's A Rebel" which reached a forgettable #115 on thr Bubbling Under chart.

Her next hit "The Lesson" reached #34 and her
3rd and final, "With Pen In Hand" reached #35.

After several more singles that did nothing, she was gone from 1975 to 1980 and

She turned 75 this year, back in July.

There are 2 Christmas songs with this title, one was released in 1993 the other in 1994; so very recent for holiday songs. One song is credited to a male (with funny hair), though he is not the featured vocalist, while the other is by one of the most successful female vocalists in history.

I always felt he (both actor and character) were very underappreciated.

On DVD they wee put back of course.

My favorite drama moment from him was when he was having a feeling of not being very useful and he ends up hitting that one patient. He's writing a letter to his sister in that one.

My favorite funny line of all though, no question was ....

"I'm afraid I'm unaccustomed to the jocularity of the
