uhm....no

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
100% agreement with that, hitman7706!
The most obvious goof of all time is an actual movie and it is called "Troll 2"
I tried to watch "Troll 2" some time ago. (It was on a double-feature disc with the original "Troll".) I couldn't take 10 minutes of it!
The language was so stilted and formal. That is decidedly not how teenagers speak  especially with each other. Not even adults speak to each other so formally except at the most formal occasions (executive business meetings, court, etc)  and perhaps when speaking with someone not fully conversant in English.
My best guess is that the script was written in another language (probably German) and translated
by one or more people for whom English was not a primary language and/or
under the supervision of a tyrant who demanded a word-for-word rendering, no matter how inappropriate.
My hat is off to the young actors who were able to deliver that dialogue without laughing  for the first 10 minutes, anyway. Farther than that, I did not see.
Whoever masterminded that translation needs to know that there are many, many English languages
 Formal
 Informal, adult
 Informal, young
 Informal, street
each with its regional dialects.
There is no language barrier That the tourist needs to dread, As long as he knows English From "A" to "Zee", no, "Zed". Richard Armour
(Spoken with irony  after two pages (in verse) of pointing up the differences between (semi-)formal American and British English.)

Tomb Raider 2. Someone presses Croft's face against broken glass and you can see some blood. But when they lift her up, her face is intact.

When I saw "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl"
she looks at George Lopez with her head twisted to
the right they change the shot to him and then back
to her then her head is twisted to the left.can't
believe they let that stay in the movie.

How about in Terminator 2 when the windows fall out of the diesel truck at the start of the truck/bike chase and in the rest of the scenes the windows are still there until the t1000 punches them out!

As already stated, the magic cliff in Jurassic Park
Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
One of the first goofs I ever noticed on my own was in Running Man. In a scene when Arnold is running toward Dynamo, Dynamo shoots a bolt of electricity at him and causes Arnold to fly through the air. You can clearly see the jump pad that launches Arnold.

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
I didn't read beyong this page of results yet, so this might already be in, but also in T2, if you pay attention to the beginning, when the T-1000 looks up John Connor's info in the police car cpu, it says he is 10 years old.
Presuming the movie is supposed to take place in the year it came out, 1991, this would be untrue. Because Sarah was pregnant with John at the end of the first Terminator, which was in 1984. (In T2, the cops even interrogate Sarah at Pescadero mental institution and show her pictures of the Terminator shooting up the West Highland Police Station from the 1st film. They even say it happened in 1984 so that at least can be used as a starting point to figure this out. By the way, I'm not sure I spelled the name of the police station right, sorry!)
If this is true, then John should have only been listed as 6 years old at the most, depending on if he was born in late 1984 or early 1985. Actually, you can figure that John was born February 1985, because at the beginning of the first film, when Reese asks someone what the date is, they say it's a Thursday in May. So you figure Sarah and Reese spent the night together in May of '84, she then became pregnant, and so then John should have been born 9 months later in Feb. 1985.- thus making him 6 years-old at the time of the events in T2, yet the cop computer says he's 10.
If you believe in Jesus Christ and are 100% proud of it put this as your signature

T2 is set in 1995, so it isn't a goof.

I think you're right about the goof, but I think it was one of those things everyone recognized, but we're all supposed to just shrug and enjoy the movie.

How about Highlander. When MacLeod defeats the Kurgan and the quickening pulls him into the air and spins him - you can clearly see the wires holding him up.
Or Braveheart, when Hamish's dad has his hand cut off in battle it is so obvious a fake arm - it's twisted all over the place!

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
I always thought the most obvious was in Commando when the Porsche Arnold is driving flips on its side and in the next scene it's totally fine, no scratches or anything.
Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
The one I always noticed was in Pirates of the Caribbean is sliding down the pole thing and throws his handcuffs around it, even though his hands are linked together, and then jumps of as if his hands weren't bound.

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
I thought the POTC was not a goof. Jack doesn't slide with cuffs on each side of the rope. Instead, he loops the chain between the two over the rope, grabs the looped section, and slides to safety.
Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
He definatly loops the chains and keeps both hands to His right of the rope.

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
High fidelity. John Cusack is sitting at the table smoking a cigarette (I think it's when he goes and meets Cathryn Zeta Jones), and all of a sudden the cigarette disappears from his hand. Hilarious.
Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
Agreed on the Porsche in Commando. That was the first one to come to mind.
Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
I agree about the Porsche. I watched that as a kid a noticed that right away! Very Obvious yes! of all time..I think we can do better than that. One that always got me was Addams family. Pugsly and Wednesdays escape chute on the side of the house. the names on the doors switch places in the movie.

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
Not a movie goof but a pretty good poster error.
have you seen the poster from the dark knight where batman is looking out of the window in the tall buildning?
Picture here just in case..

And second and best: what is he looking at? what can he possibly see when looking straight into the pillar (or whatever it's called in english)?

It's not so thick that he can't see around it. Turn your hand sideways and put it in front of your face. Can you not see around it?
Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
The floor looks fine to me. If he is even a foot back from the "pillar" he could easily see around it, and, just because his head is straight ahead doesn't mean his eyes are.

In What Happens In Vegas, the entire plot is based on them winning the progressive jackpot(can't remember how much it was)but they only put in one coin to the machine and there is a huge unobstructed view of a sign behind them saying you have to put in two coins for the progressive jackpot.

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
I love the goof (one of many) in Arachnophobia. They are testing how strong the spider venom is in the Docs office.
A mouse is injected with some venom, put in a big jam jar and placed on a table in front of the actors, but you cannot see the jar. The shot then slowly pans out to show the top of the table (as the actor times how long the mouse takes to croak), and revealing a jar containing a dead mouse. Only thing is as they pan out you can see some guys hand removing the jar with the live mouse to leave the one with the dead mouse! Class

Robocop- the guy holding all the people hostage gets blown out the window and on the news report it shows the same scene but you can clearly see the actor bouncing back off the crash mat!

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
I Know it looks like a goof but it was actually left in the film on purpose by the director as he like the way the legs of the stunt dummy flew up into the air, just thought id let you know even though this post is over a year old hahaha

Ala that god-awful jump-cut in Alien when they are setting Ash's head on the table. One of the worst editing decisions of all time.

WHen I was 4 or 5, I watche Batman Returns. The part where his is about to reveal his Bruce Wayne to Catwoman, befor ehe takes of the mask, his eye make-up magically disppears. I was 4 or 5 and caught that, now that's obvious.

Sophie Marceau's scarf in Braveheart during the close-up scenes with Mel Gibson. It is over her chin, under her chin, over her chin, under her ... you get the idea.

I have already posted this example on the Goof board, but, at the risk of being a bore,I'll quote it again. The 2 different makes of Taxi's in the 1955 version of 'The Ladykillers'.An Austin and a Beardmore, both bearing the same registration number, in alternating shots.

Hellboy. His right arm is large and rock-like but there was a shot that showed him with his left arm as the large arm. They must have flipped the shot but forgot about the arm.
The Muppet Movie - When Kermit was riding his bike, you can see 2 strings that is holding the bike up.

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
Well, if we want the most obvious, it would be from "Plan 9 From Outer Space." The police car pulls up to the cemetery in the middle of the day, and then the police get out and it's night time.
Yeah, that whole movie has some of the most obvious goofs in history. Like in one scene, the graves in the graveyard are clearly made with flimsy material - at one point in the background someone accidentally nudges a gravestone and it falls right over.

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
The scene of Sonny beating up Carlo in The Godfather. It's obvious none of the punches are actually connecting.

I havnt seen the Godfather for ages but i thought they actually were fighting? Im sure i remember hearing they were told to actuallyhit each other for realism...

Take THe Lead- Ginger dude with the Cornrows goes to visit Banderas. He is seen eating a Pocky stick in that scene. He bites half of it off, then in the next shot, a quarter of the stick is magically back on.

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
I have two,
In The Rocky Horror Picture show ,
the scene with Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick, standing in front of the church doors (it's in the beginning of the movie) , you can clearly see the boom mike right above them, and even though they lift the mike up a bit, you can still see the shadow.. and then it reappears as Susan and Barry walk away from the door.
and
Boondock Saints, the scene right after they've beat up the Russian mob guys. Sean Patrick Flannery is passed out on the ground, you can clearly see they have cut two different takes together as Sean Patrick Flannery's arms and legs change position the entire scene.

Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
There is one punch in particular where Sonny clearly misses Carlo by a mile. (Yet Carlo reacts as if he'd been hit.) Why it was left in the movie is anybody's guess.
Re: The Most Obvious Goof Of All Time?
They really were fighting. I heard someplace (might have been here) that James Caan actually broke Gianni Russo's nose or jaw during that shoot.
